Closing of Razor (Trafficneeds)

Hey guys, this is my first post on WickedFire..
My company was the one handling Razor’s account. www.tmspay.com
I think the original poster of this string was ill informed.
Our company was never mentioned by the processor (TransFirst), MasterCard or any other card association.
What was mentioned at the end of an extended re-underwriting process of Razor is the cart URL that customer’s used to enter their credit card info into on Razor’s exit page.
It’s a 256 bit encrypted cart URL that is PCI compliant. All of our clients have the option to use any cart URL they chose or they can use a house URL.
Razor’s account was placed on 100% reserve long before it was shut down and long before traffic began to slow down significantly. They were placed into re-underwriting by TF due to an extremely high volume of charge backs.
We do not dictate the business rules that our clients operate under. I can say that this was the highest ratio of CB I have seen in my 8 years in the business. I can only imagine that it had to do with Razor add a charge to its customer’s cards outside their T&Cs
At the end of TF’s underwriting process they asked the relationship between the cart URL and Razor.
Some underling at TF thought that my company should be registered as a Merchant Services Provider. My merchant account attorney assured me that MSP’s are companies that issues merchant accounts. We do not.
We are level 2, 3rd party service provider compliant and use Trustwave as our PCI auditing company.
The real question is why Razor continued to accept large volume of traffic when their only MIDs were with TF and put on 1005 reserve?
Razor owes us money also.
If you truly have a good relationship with Razor then I’m sure they will transfer the rights of the funds they have on reserve (which I estimate to be in the MID six figures) to you to cover your outstanding debts.
Our CRM ahs handled some of the largest and most aggressive offers in this arena. I have never spoken out publicly about client in the past. I am speaking today to clear the air.
If you have any questions about our service, standing with the card associations or PCI status you are fee to reach out to me directly at any time.

hope that we all at least get a Christmas Card from Razor Marketing

What would a Christmas card say from these guys? lol

"Razor Marketing is sorry to inform you Santa won't be coming this year, he's gone of out business. Your Christmas gift which normally arrives 60-90 days following Christmas will not arrive at all. We blame the elves 100% for this issue. You can contact Santa's lawyer at the following address:"

Jesus. How can you possibly believe you can handle a high volume continuity model that way. I feel for everyone that was affected but how were all the networks unaware of the inadequate configuration they were running on the backend? Were they lying to everyone in the midst of facing 100% reserves and huge chargeback numbers?

This clears up a lot though mbrooks.

Exactly what brooks said, there money is in reserve. in 6 months when the reserve is up (usually the max amount a processor can hold funds is 6 months) they will be given 6-7figs of money. But there company will be shut down... hmm....

Yeah, 180 days is the max. I doubt it will be in the 7 figure range with the massive amounts of CB's that mrbrooks is referring to. With TN's record, I highly doubt that money will be going anywhere except into their pockets in 180 days.

This explains a lot.

A lot of them WERE Aware. I could name 4 networks in this very forum that I specifically tried to address when we were having problems. However, I'm thinking they took the info as a scare tactic to stay off the offer and one of them has even admitted that. Believe me, I fuckin tried.

It doesnt matter how bad it is, someone is going to run it. Guaranteed.

Your problems were solved because of our controversial trafficneeds-scam page. :)

I concur. Thanks for chiming in mBrooks. Your explanation doesn't get us paid today, but it answers a couple questions for which we previously just assumed the answers. I highly doubt the CBs will eat up much of their reserve balance, but I also high doubt any of us will see any of it when it's released.

CBs don't get taken out of the reserve balance unless there is an ACH reject from Razor's bank account. If there is an ACH reject, chances are the processor will hold funds for even longer, and could potentially burn Razor for a significant amount of $.

A big fear that processors have is not being able to collect fees and CB dollars. Thus, they get their panties in a wad when their ACH transactions get rejected because they are liable to pay Visa and MC.
