Just got this:

HTML:
Clickbooth always keeps our publishers' protection at the forefront of
every action we take and every
decision we make. We've recently uncovered concerns with SwipeAuctions and
due to the lack of
communication from the advertiser in reference to these concerns we've
made the decision to proactively
take this offer down in order to ensure you, our publishers, are
protected.

Please be advised that SwipeAuctions - Penny Auction Website (10390) is
going inactive on Thursday,
October 7th, 2010 and will be redirected to Buy Low Penny Auctions (10358).

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact us anytime.
Thanks!

They told me it was due to the Advertiser lowering their cap significantly for the month but it didn't add up, I suspected something fishy was up. Was a hot offer while it lasted.

ironically i saw something related to this on the pacer case system earlier today

LOL I was gonna say something, but didn't want to raid the parade. The penny auction format is open to wide legal interpretation, adding the trial and rebill model in there just kind of throws a whole wrench into the whole thing. It's easy to see why attorneys general would label them as a "game of chance", even though it's not since in order to "win" you merely need to be the highest bidder. Unfortunately the penny auction site operators have to spend a few months in court proving it.

This offer is such a fucking unstable disaster. Can't wait for an advertiser that actually knows what they're doing to come out with a offer that can:

a) handle some volume
b) not have some sort of fuckup every other day causing conversions to tank

This is what happens when new offers start to get traction. Itll work itself out

There are alot of sketchy penny auction sites out there right now, it's hard to keep up. Affiliates should definitely protect themselves from running some of these, as you guys can risk not getting paid by the advertisers or networks for the same reason guys have been stiffed by the Acai-type rebill companies. A few of these sites already lost their merchant accounts once, and I'm sure they wouldn't be in a rush to pay out networks and affiliates the next time it happens.

We have a legitimate penny auction site that we've been doing good volume on since day one. The company has deep pockets, an A- rating with the BBB, and it has also been accredited as a legitimate auction site by Ernst & Young. It also has the lowest bidpack price (lowest cost to consumer), with NO rebill/continuity aspect. Did I mention that we had exclusive pages and payouts on it, too? :)

Let me know if you're interested in more info.
