thanks for all the heads up, some great deals here :D will deffo have to check them out. I love a good bargain.

I always used to buy my domains from Godaddy, but it is just too much of a pain in the ass. I can never remember that stupid account ID number or whatever they call it and God forbid you forget it, because it is nearly impossible to retrieve.

Plus their telephone support isn't toll free and you end-up on hold forever. Not to mention that I once bought hosting from them, canceled in the grace period and then had to stay on hold for forever and a day just to try and get my refund.

Yeah, you can keep Godaddy. I have since gone with Aplus.net and I'm quite happy with them.

I use godaddy to but i totally HATE getting spammed with offers I don't want. You try to register your domain asap and next thing you know theres a hosting package in your cart. goddamn scammers

Oh, and another thing. I registered a site through GoDaddy once with privacy protection. When the renewal came up I decided that privacy was an unnecessary expense. Trying to find the link to change my listing to public was like trying to find the Holy Grail. I called customer service for an assist and it took three of their own employees to find the f'ing thing!

I always read posts of people buying domain for 5bucks or 2 bucks from Godady, I reckon they use some sort of coupons, does anyone know where to get those or where to watch out for announcements of domain name discount sales?

I only use NameCheap, I think the $8.88 that their domains cost is worth the cash.

I use http://www.directnic.com/
They sure are not as cheap as whats been discussed but their control panel is fine. I don't like to use the host's domain buy service becuase... well sometimes I change hosts!

Really if your talking about buying a domian for a site that you intend to maintain for many years. Weather its $5 or $25 a year thats not a lot of investment for a site domain.

i get the emails but never want to buy a domain when the offers are on. The coupon code will be usefult though, thanks Jon

Do you happen to live in southern california? I'm in San Diego, which is where A+ is. They're pretty popular around here as they advertise in all the local computer publications. I was just curious if you herd of them 'cause you live around here, or if they are a really well known company.
