I'd like someone who has experience in bum marketing to help me out!

1) Should i use an affiliate link directly to the vendor site or is this considered spam?
2) How do I cloak affiliation sites without any HTML experience. Most cloaking methods want me to create a txt and upload a web server. I have never done anything like his in my life so i am completely lost. Any simple sites for newbs that can do this?
3) How many key words show i target for one article? So far I only targeted one profitable key word which is my title. Do I need more?
4) Lets say I'm promoting 1 product and would like to send articles to three article sites. Should I send an exact copy of the article to 3 different sites or make completely different articles.

First person to help me out and answer these questions sufficiently, I will paypal 2$.

It could be considered spam if you direct link to the offer, you are also exposing the affiliate link. The person paying you won't take kindly to the bad rep you might bring them and anybody who looks at the URL will probably realise it's not an innocent link.

You will need a domain and some hosting. It only takes one line of code to redirect to the appropriate aff link. Create an empty index.php file and place the following code in it, replace # with ?

<# header("Location: http://www.yoursite.com"); #>

How long is a piece of string? Test, test and test to find the best method for you.

Article sites will answer this question for you: (most) only allow unique articles to be submitted. I believe their are content "spinners" out there which can rewrite any article to look different. Different ones will vary in the quality of output, I've never used any myself because I think they'll look unnatural.

As for the $2, donate it to someone in need (and not yourself!)

I appreciate your help! So in order to create traffic to my affiliate I would have to create a domain that redirects instantly to the vendor site when the link is clicked at the bottom of my article? Or simply make a website that has affiliate ads which my link brings them to?

You're starting to answer your own questions. There are many ways to promote affiliate products. A redirect domain would imply that you are directing traffic straight to the offer and it may be hard to build credibility. If you were to build a website it'll take a lot more work but the rewards will be more long term if you do it right. You have to test these things to find the right results for you.

Thanks for your insight. If you have an example of what a website should look like to promote a product do you mind sending me the link? I also do realize bum marketing became really popular years ago. Does it still work today? And do I need to use social bookmarking?

I'm not currently in the affiliate game, at least not on a massive scale. I think review type sites do fairly well as long as you bulk it out with decent content. One example could be: proxyhost.org, gives useful insight into each host (great for catching search engine phrases), plus a comparison page and redirects people via cloaked affiliate links. I did bum marketing about a year or two ago, made a few hundred off it but it was hard work and there was no residual traffic after the Yahoo accounts got banned. I think it's a lot tougher to find free traffic sources now a days - except for search engine traffic. Although I've never tried it with Facebook, it's all about being creative and doing something different.

Thanks again! Does anyone here still do bum marketing successfully? If so can I get an example of what your website looks like?

One tip: try to promote something that will get you residual income. Otherwise with bum marketing you'll have to keep churning out articles non-stop without any increases in income after a certain point (since the traffic to any new articles don't last).

Examples include lifetime/residual commission affiliate programs, building targeted email lists or creating a membership site.

Some sort of stickiness is essential to make bum marketing scalable - leaking hard-earned traffic via one-time clicks or sales is foolish IMO.

You must be hanging out at WarriorForum way too much...

Listen buddy... bum marketing is dead and has been dead for quite some time. It 'could' still work, provided if you build backlinks to the articles you submit, which kinda defeats the purpose, too time consuming and not really worth the effort. Learn proper SEO if you want to make some serious cash.
