It's not "obviously fake"... otherwise that girl would have been a total bombshell ;) And you do realize the article is on the front page of digg, etc. Can't talk about how he managed to pull it off, but it was more complex than just paying an employee of the mirror
 


Mirror readers are not that high class to begin with (sorry if you're one of them), and the article reminds me of "Penthouse letters".
I guess that if someone read the whole thing he/she will probably also check out the site

The money URL isn't on the front page of Digg and clicks from Digg and everything like it for one article wouldn't be a ripple in the regular audience the mirror has.

Your buddy got maybe tens of tens of registrations. It's a cute, cheap stunt but thinking it's a moneymaker is a ranbows-and-unicorns notion.
