I'm covering the entry fee for those people. He's offering to also pay for the domain.

True story,
A few years back Enigmabomb linked me to a large 2 month SEO contest that was going to end in 2 weeks for some company as a promotion. We decided to join in at the last minute and we even made an extra rule for ourselves that we couldn't spend a single dollar or use any commercial seo services. We won both 1st and 2nd prize.

But that's not the point obviously. The point is to get more people involved and let those that want to use it as a first time learning experience participate. The contest is having fun and helping the community.

Yeah it's not so much about people needing to spend money to win, but that if they had the skills to win, that they would have the money to register.

I getcha on the latter though.
 
There could be many reasons that they couldn't do it. Just saying that I am willing to help people out. This is a fun competition to learn.
 
I really can't wait to watch this, and I'm so glad WF is doing another ranking competition.


No point in me trying to take part though.
 
Alright, so far I've sent a PM to everyone who has said they are in. If I missed you, please PM me. I will do my best to make sure that I get to everyone tonight and tomorrow morning so everyone has a fair shot when we all start regging our domains tomorrow.

To the participants - be sure to send me a PM with your website and let me know if you paid via PayPal or if Eli sponsored you. (Those who are being sponsored will remain confidential, don't worry)

Since I will be informed of everyone participating and their domains (and because I'm not going to make them available to non-participants for now) I will send out a link to a Google doc where contest participants can see the username of the participant and their domain.

Sound fair?
