If it was so horrible, why doesn't anybody seem to give a shit about the fact that there are more slaves in the world today, than at any time in history? We spend all this time being butt hurt over something that happened hundreds of years ago, that none of us had anything to do with, that none of us suffered under, and that none of us can change, and yet there are more slaves today than ever. Why don't you bleeding heart motherfuckers care about the slaves that are alive today? Is it because it would entail you actually doing something, rather than just bitching and moaning about past injustices?

Slavery is a loose term that is used to describe the very bottom of a societies socioeconomic strata. So what are you proposing? By the way the slavery law was never abolished in the U.S. It was only amended. You still can be forced to work without pay if you are incarcerated. Is it worth mentioning that Prison industries is a growth business and the U.S. has the highest percentage of its population in prison than any other country on the plant? Stop worrying about other people and start worrying that you or your loved ones will become slaves.
I don't think any of these cases are as explicitly 'racist' as the one OP posted, if at all.
I'll add to this: many slaves were slaves in their native cultures. They were sold into slavery but their working conditions were more or less the same. They were working under a white owner rather than a native black owner. In fact, some of the native African slavery conditions were actually far worse than the treatment that slaves received under European slave owners. Furthermore, many whites were slaves in Europe, and there were a lot of white slaves in the colonies. We don't think of whites as slaves because it's a 'white word' that has been (intentionally) constructed to refer to blacks being owned by whites. It's just not that cut and dry. Any decent historian will tell you that.
Slavery has literally nothing to do with race and everything to do with power. It's the extreme of power-hungry lunatics at the top subjugating people below them. And that's pretty much the norm in history going back thousands of years across the world.
