The photos are from a plus-sized swimwear ad, but they're all over the place right now because Sports Illustrated decided to include 2 "plus sized" models in their latest swimsuit edition. Average-sized women are outraged because they're calling a couple of large but relatively fit women (compared to most Americans) plus-sized.
blah-blah women are outraged because someone else is doing blah-blah to them because of blah-blah. fill in the blanks.

Yeah, Robin Lawley looks perfectly fine. The other one is definitely a little smooshy, but still thinner and better proportioned than the "average" American woman once you account for height.
I guess it would be far too sane to come up with a more accurate name for models who are somewhere in between stick-thin and overweight...and not nearly as lucrative and attention-getting.

You sound grumpy. I don't know where you got the idea that I'm trying to mold anybody, I'm just pointing out that the term doesn't make a lot of sense when you apply it to a perfectly healthy, thinner than average woman like Robin Lawley. In clothing stores, "plus-sized" is generally size 14 or 16 and up. In modeling, they start throwing the term around with sizes as small as 8. It's inconsistent.

There is a fine line between a girl that is attractive, big and "healthy" and a girl who is pushing maximum density and not attractive.

I wasn't bitching to anyone, just making a very matter of fact statement that nothing about fashion or marketing is particularly "sane" because being reasonable, logical, etc. doesn't get at people's insecurities and make people money. There's no judgment there, just mild amusement. Personally, I've opted out of fashion to the greatest extent possible. I tend to buy lots of the same item so I don't have to shop or think about clothing much, and I hire someone to pick outfits for the occasions where that doesn't really work. Still, I have to laugh at the way it all works.
I think you're reading a lot into my comments that isn't there, especially with the "your gender craves" jab.
I touched on this in another thread, but this chick they've got in the black bathing suit in the OP is like my ideal size for a chick. This chick is much larger than what I prefer, but I'd totally let her blow me. She's one of those chicks that seem like a real waste of potential because she seems like she'd have a pretty face and a nice rack if she'd lose about 150 lbs or whatever.
