Interesting.. and you've run all the back-of-the-envelope math on storage needs as it scales out?
It's certainly not a php-mysql feature... to scale it's gotta go the unconventional-nosql-db-and-distributed-filesystem route.

First network or tracking platform that releases multivariate is gonna have to warm-up their check signing hand.
But this is an intensely difficult feature. That's why it doesn't exist yet.
it's not as complex as you think.
I'm assuming open source in this context means that those who have premium memberships can see the source, make modifications, etc, rather than that the platform is released under a license like the GPL or BSD.As many of you may know from our booth at ASW, I have spent the past 2.5 years developing a platform aimed at being a one stop shop for affiliate marketers. Basically, I architected this as what I considered being my "dream platform" as a marketer (tracker for PPC/PPV/media, full campaign editor for major platforms, network management, etc.) all interconnected via a central API, syncing exact stats and management capabilities onto a single platform. And before anyone asks, yes self hosted/open source platforms are available.
Of course, we are aware that Facebook is a huge traffic source, which is why we have a major addition coming in the future. specifically regarding facebook. If the advantages arent clear cut regarding facebook now, then they sure will be when the social media editor is done.
Hey Ryan, do you have an ETA on when the social media editor is coming? Thanks for all the work you put into this, looks very promising.
