hm really? This is the first time I've gotten one of these, every other time has just been a random "ad disapproved". Well I hope they do more of those for other reasons then just grammatical errors, it's really helpful and lines things up to be way more efficient for everyone involved.
 
hey Jon, I sent you some screen shots of some of my advertising. Do you think you can help in my situation and if so how long do you think that guy will take the up the budget?

Yea, it looks like it is just for simple punctuation marks. If they have the time to tell you that you forgot a period or spelled a word wrong...why can't they tell you why they denied your ad? Disproving more ads obviously is a higher opportunity cost than bringing in more revenue.

I just got one of those the other day. I was really surprised when I didn't see "Running" or "Disapproved" but it was, pending approval or something. Since then I've had a bunch disapproved though, and they all went back to the generic answer, lol. It was cool that ONE time though.
 
I got a question for them, why won't they take my money? My account with the highest limit has been hit with their sorry we can't process your request at this time bug. No response by the Facebook braintrust as of yet. Jon, maybe your guy can help me out and up my limit at the same time? I will PM you.
 
Damn :-/ I deleted an ad that was performing decently (stupid mistake) and I keep re-submitting the EXACT ad and it's been disapproved 8/8 times :-/
 
  1. Diet ads. Do you still accept diet ads ? I can't get a diet approved lately.
  2. Increase your approval time. MySpace managed to approve/disapprove in minutes. By improving it FB will make MORE money and so will we :)
  3. Add special tags to url. Example http://www.ourlandingpage.com/?age={age}&sex={sex}&cpc={cpc} (cpc=cost per click)
  4. API to upload ads / get statistics.
  5. An email where we can contact you? Account manager would be great.
  6. Does FB use PPDA to pay internals who approve/disapprove ads? (PPDA=Pay Per Disapproved Ad :D )
  7. What is your percentage of disapproved ads?
  8. Can you divide your money earned / # of disapproved ads ?
 
They probably have javascript turned off. I know Myspace doesn't have javascript turned off cause my ad got denied last night and the reason it was denied was: It had a popup when you tried to close the page.

oo0o0o, then you will never guess what I changed the javascript and the ad got approved :O
 
Ok. So I retested them, and it's been reconfirmed. They deserve to go bankrupt. Unless the word 'gorgeous' became an obscenity over the past year and I missed the memo.

Now the only question is if I don't play at all, or play dirty as shit.
I really hoped they had improved in some way since I stopped running their ads, but they haven't. They still treat the advertiser as the enemy and expect us to play nice in spite of that. Fuck that.
 
Play dirty as you can. Piss on them, I'm probably just as annoyed as you are (I don't know, how annoyed are you?)

I've submitted 100% duplicate ads as ones currently running and been denied over and over and over.

I've submitted 100% duplicate ads to current ads I had approved - denied over and over and over.

I've cloaked using cakes' script to a 100% information page with a little "email me for details" link at the way bottom (and w/o the link) - denied over and over and over.

In the past 6 days I'm 0-64 in ads submitted and approved.

It's fun!

I'm pissed off enough to put a serious dent in it.
Someday actually look at their PPC system not as facebook, but from a raw technical standpoint. It's the most easily exploitable ad system I've ever seen. Keep in mind this isn't "exploitable" in the illegal sense, this is exploitable in the "did you really mean to design it like that" sense.

This is how I see it. I've dumped an insane amount of money into their ad system. I've helped other newbies who would later go on to dump a lot of money into their ad system. The day I turned everything off, or saw a significant impressions decrease any other company on the planet would've given a call or an email or something. But they don't give a fuck about the advertisers. They don't try and work with us, they can't even be bothered to put a fucking chat box in so we can quickly debug the ad with the guy who denied it. Do you know how much faster that would be since they wouldn't be reviewing the same ad 1000 times?

Even given my account history it would seem logical to have given me a rep. I can't find one though. So what do they expect me to do here? Continue doing the 6 hour review circle jerk of getting denied for an arbitrary reason after hours of waiting?

Fuck that noise. If they want to be enemies, we'll be enemies. I'll let them chase accounts and ads around all day long.

I'm just looking for some godamn common courtesy here. That's fucking it.
