Fuck, i really need to switch from Windows to Mac OS. I hate windows but have used it all my life and know how to use it.
I am worried if I switch OS's my productivity will grind to a halt because I don't know the system. Any tips for making the transition?

Dude that's he beauty of the Mac. It's designed so intelligently that you intuitively know how to use it.
Put your windows shit on it and you are productive while you phase into grown up computing
Personally I cannot stomach the cost so I will be buying another $400 8GB Ram 1 TB 15" Dell laptop. At that price you can toss them every year (sorry environment).

Apple is just refreshing the Pro line this week. Air is probably soon to follow since it's currently 6 days over the average refresh of 321 days.

I made the same transition, the only advice I can say is just switch and push as many buttons as you can and you'll pick it up quickly, to be honest it's not that complicated and every time I've seen stuck with something I just Google it and 2 out of 3 times it's been covered before by some mac forum.
It's so easy that unless your IQ is in the basement you can pick up most of it in a couple days. Search on here, there are a thread or two on apps and tips for using them. If that fails, just ask any 5th grader.
