^^Can't see your last image, but damn I need to know MOAR about the MG. Is it pre-'86? If not how do you get a class III weapon like that? Of course, I couldn't afford to buy one, much less keep it fed, lol. What's it like 3,000 rounds per minute?

That looks like the Dillon Aero M134 minigun. I don't think they made them before '86. So, just get your FFL with Class III SOT and you'll be good to go! :)

Scratch that... that's the Jesse Ventura gun from Predator. LOL. Awesome!

BTW, DanWesson, if you ever did get a FFL with the SOT, you'd be surprised how cheap "dealer samples" are. I saw a Glock 18, the full auto Glock, for sale on Gunbroker for $1250. They didn't make the 18 before 1986, so only Class III dealers, Glock's factory shooters, and LE / Military can get them.

Gonna do something here that's totally outta character - plug an ebook (gasp) - http://ffl123.com Actually, it's not an ebook, but a collection of PDFs and information about getting your FFL and passing the ATF interview. Actually very very good. No, I am not affiliated with that site, nor is that an aff link.

Switching gears back to cool guns:

That's the next gun I want. Colt Python in 4 inch blued barrel. I think the Pythons, and the old Single Action Army's are some of the nicest revolvers ever made.

gay, yeah the image is not loading now, even though it did eariler when I tested it on the forum.

it is an old school tommy gun though

I'm not much of a fan of 1911s, I owned one of the high end para-ord 1911s which was amazingly accurate. One night I thought someone was breaking into the store across the street from my house. Grabbed the 1911, hit the slide release.........round jammed. Spent 30s trying to dislodge it which I finally did complete. Thankfully no one was and it was something else going on.

Now had that of been a REAL emergency , I would have been in trouble. I started talking to 1911 owners and they pretty much ALL said the same few things : #1 If you want to use any sort of hollow point (who wouldn't, FMJs are worthless) you need to have at a minimum one grand in the gun. Two 1911s don't like hollowpoints even with expensive mods and #3 if you want to use expanding ammo , use EFMJs which only one company makes.

I don't know about you , but I don't want to have to 'make' a gun use good ammo , it should use it out of the box. So I ditched the $850 1911 for a $550 FNP45. The FNP is just as accurate as the 1911 , fits in my hand just as well , yet is significantly more reliable and holds around 100% more ammo than the last one. I haven't had it jam on me when things go bad, and it works great.

eliquid:::::: you got to be fucking kidding me man , where in blue hell did you get that man , now i want one so fuckinnnnnnggg baddd

I can't help it. I love firearms. Shooting, cleaning, changing shit on them.

Since the last thread I went and got my 45. Yeah, I know, I said I probably won't get one blah blah blah. That was just me trying to rationalize why I didn't need another gun....but I failed talking myself out of it. I love the 1911, and can't stay away from it.

So, here is my Kimber II with custom grips from Sarge's Grips and Meprolight Night Sights that I installed a couple weeks ago.

Sarge's grips fit like a glove! The guys at the range were mucho impressed. That's the first thing everybody says that sees them. "Look at the fit! I've never seen grips fit that nice" Treat yourself to some, you'll thank me.

These grips are Amboyna Burl. I liked them so much, I got my dad a set for Father's Day. Sent him some Pomelle Red Bubinga grips (similar to these) for his Springfield Mil-Spec. All the guys in his SASS club are jealous. ;)

The tritium sights are great! The white helps for daylight shooting and in low light the tritium really makes sight acquisition easy.

Next on my list is a short trigger. Mostly for comfort. All Kimbers come with long triggers from the factory. I picked up a true Colt 1911 the other day, and the short trigger is so much nicer.

Then probably new sear, disconnect and springs from Ed Brown or Wilson Combat. The stock trigger is pretty crisp, but I like to tinker.

For me, I enjoy firearms because they are truly all about the mechanics of the machine. You can tweak them to what you want out of them, and that tweaking is half the fun. Cleaning and shooting make up the other half.

Speaking of cleaning (lube) ... this stuff: Amazon.com: TW25B Grease 0.5 oz Reclosable Syringe: Sports & Outdoors is FANTASTIC! The syringe gives you a super fine line of grease exactly where you want it. No mess, and keeps things nice and smooth.

Anybody here like to "smith" their own weapon? What have you done? Any suggestions for 1911 mods? I'm open to anything.

Check yo PM, mufukka!

Wanted a 1911, but went with an M&P9 for carry purposes.

Love those grips though, really sets it out.

I have an AR15 now, scope, hand guards, the works. My next project will be a soviet type II AK47 (minus the receiver of course and unfortunately) I have been perusing for a parts kit, ill post a pic whenever I get it together.

The 45 is what I carry , the AR is one I built a few years back.

Nice! Love that AR!

The local range I go to has a SR-15 sitting on the counter. Get's me excited everytime. I'd really like a SR 25 :D Just don't have anywhere to shoot something like that. Wish we had a 500 meter range nearby. Have to go to the Sandhills of Nebraska to really have fun with a rifle like that.

IF any of you guys are ever in Arizona and want to go shooting let me know. I'm a member at the Scottsdale Gun Club.

Guaranteed I'll hit you up if I ever get to Pheonix! Would love to go shooting at SGC. By any chance, are you a Titanium member? ;)

I just shot a Barrett M107 today. Forget the tommy gun, I think this is the next thing I get.

if you dont know, fires a 12.7×99mm and has an effective range of 2k yards.. yes 2k, although you will need some Kentucky Windage to be able to hit something more then 1k yards generally.

Which do you like better: single-action or double-action?

If you'd rather not decide, here's another option:

CZ 75B operates either single-action with the safety lever and can be carried "cocked and locked" like a 1911, or double-action...of course not exactly like a Glock, but Glocks are butt-ugly guns. :)
