it's an overpriced car with an engine that sounds nice. probably the perfect american car.

The Corvette ZR1 is the perfect american car. It smokes almost everything else for just a little over 100,000 USD. Even Jeremy Clarkson declared the '09 ZR1 the car of the year, and that's saying something. (I think he's willing to hate us less now that Obama got elected)

Jeremy Clarkson said:

Vipers are shit though. They'll go really fast right up until the point where they crash and kill you.

On another note, the mods should have killed this thread at the end of page four. It's sad seeing only a shell of epicness that this thread once was.

agree the zr1 is probably the only american sports car car that'd be worth buying if you want to take the car to a track day. I'd still stick with a GT-R if we are going after the best bang for the buck :P

yep close thread kthx

I try not to judge how another person spends their money. It's all relative. If your happy, that's all that matters.

I will, however, judge you for believing that a Giant Fairy rules the universe. Sorry, you really should be in an institution and the only reason your not is cause you have a moral majority feeding your delusions.
/random thread rant sure to fall into my pointless %99 tally.

institutions FTW!

What does spending money on materialistic things have to doing with being successful you watch too many movies and rap videos. Its always the people insecure and wanna-be's that try and say look at my car look at my watch. Fuck that shit. You know what kind of house and car Warren Buffet has? I have driven fast cars eaten at the best resturants in the world. Guess what old school 67 chevy camero torque(Porsche twin-turbo 2nd place) and a $20 steak you grilled can't be beat! Looking back the best times I have ever had was when i was young with no money and no worries stress free drinking 40's. You can't buy genuine moments with friends and family those are the times I look back on and really enjoy.

This is a terribly sagacious comment. In fact, about 4 years ago, I read that 80% of one's happiness in life is derived from the quality of one's relationships NOT prestige or material things!

This is what set my mind firm on making my relationships the no.1 priority in my life. Because if you do the math, you can have 100% of the other stuff (plenty of money, accolades, etc) but still not be happy. And, at the end of the day, everything people do is to get that all-important happiness, so why not go for the right things....

Having said that, I think it's a false dichotomy to set up whereby you either go for non-material things (ex. relationships, charitable giving, etc) OR you go for the material things (high end living).

I think it's quite possible to having deep, lasting inner contentment, plus your french chateau :P....or if you like (guys), the lambo and rolexes!

DreamMachine's logic is exactly why celebs go broke, and frugal people make money.

/thread.

Not a Ford GT, Saleen S7, Mosler or an aftermarket Mustang from Roush or Saleen?

I still think it's a total douchebag car, but there is a McLaren version of the Viper that sells for a quarter of a million.

2006 ASC Diamondback Viper powered by McLaren

Personally I'd be buying German or Italian (or perhaps Aston) if I was dropping a quarter of a mil on an automobile, but...
