Just back from A:TL :D Awesome, good matching up names to faces and meeting a shitload of companies :)

Will be back again tomorrow, who's going?

P.S. Check the haul! (also had a bottle of weightloss/energy pills, but lost it :p)

P.P.S. The mastercard had £9 ($9?) on it :D ...free lunch :) )

What was it like? I decided to fuck it off, but might still go tomorrow. Free gifts are cool though.

Fuck it, I'll get it on tomorrow. I quite like the look of some of those Google Seminars, so if I find walking around and talking to company drones boring I won't be driving straight home again!

I would have enjoyed it more, but 90% of the people weren't my kind of people. It just seemed full of pretence and show. It also reminded me at times like a massive WaFo or DP, except with some quality birds as well. Oh, there were some truly epic birds. Hmmmmm.

Spoke to some interesting companies I hadn't heard of and went to several seminars. Amusingly most people I spoke to were dressed like a CEO, but were extremely low on knowledge and had nothing to say of any intelligence.

In a Google DoubleClick seminar, someone asked if they could direct link clickbank products or was it like search and display and still not allowed... [Cue blank stares and several questions from Google employees] The same was asked, by someone else, when they talked about DoubleClick Rich Media.... :D

Oh well, it was a crack and enjoyed it in parts. Would've loved to chat to smaxor, but as I passed he was otherwise engaged and I needed to explore!

I found the same thing with the fake ass CEOs yesterday too :D
At least 4 people said 'Actually I've only been with the company for a few weeks, so I'll just get X to explain that to you'...clearly they were hired for the 2 days to make sales.
BiScience definitely had the hottest chicks...although there was a stunner in a mask and a scantily dressed trio yesterday too.

How was the affiliate dinner and the Neverblue party? Kenny seemed well up for it.

We have a booth as I think I mentioned. Everyone come by and say hello. Never been to the show so no idea what it will be like. Seems like there's going to be some good companies here to talk to about traffic sources tho. Booth is 10-5 tomorrow and the next day. Some come on by will have plenty of time to burn :D

Not like ASW/E, should have a lot of time to talk if you want to talk strategies and ideas. Or just need some help getting to the next level I'll share what I can. Look forward to seeing everyone coming.

Smaxor,
Was nice meeting you,Which traffic sources would you recommend(looking from expert point of view)?
I was confused By the amount of companies over there.

We had a great time. Really enjoyed the Neverblue party, it was a great networking opportunity and a chance to learn loads from a bunch of people who didn't glaze over when we started talking about affiliate stuff. I was delighted to meet Samantha, Kenny, Smaxor and Alonzo and some other fascinating people with great tips and suggestions for improving our game.

This sort of event is great for giving you focus and motivation. I also met and discovered a lot more networks and internet marketing opportunities that I didn't really understand before, which was also cool.

That's awesome! I'm really gutted I couldn't go to the party but I guess that's motivation enough to make money to go to ASE!

I know, I found that a lot too. For example, my conversation with an SEO "expert" from one of the SEO companies:

Me: Hi there, I'm interested in your services. Could you tell me a little about yourselves?
Him: Well, what kind of websites do you run?
Me: Mainly affiliate products, really.
Him: Well we don't deal with affiliates.
Me: Ok, that's fine, I've got my own physical product I'm looking at launching.
Him: Ok, although we wouldn't be able to do the 2 month free trial (wtf not? :p)
Me: Ok, so how much do you charge monthly?
Him: Probably between £500-£1000 a month.
Me: (Deciding to test his knowledge) Ok, so what do you deliver for that? (he looks blank) i.e. on page optimisation? How many links, what pageranks etc? (he obviously doesn't know what pagerank is)
Him: I don't think you're the kind of client we'd suit best (so you only deal with idiots?)
Me: Why not?
Him: I just don't think we'd suit you. But I can take your email so we could contact you about it?
...

Lol.

Show was amazing for us, tons of traffic sources and tons of merchants. I will definitely come back next year.

Was great meeting and chatting with everyone from here as well. Wasn't a whole lot of a affiliates but that just gave the ones that came more time :)
