Just got the report. Will be writing a full review tonight but I have to say this is one exciting service. I think for the right niche, this could be a really powerful service.

3) EXE of the software that was submitted (in this case, a screensaver). Nothing breath-taking, but servicable for this purpose (and actually pretty cool. He uses images taken from your site which is sweet). Plus you can submit it to more sites if you want.

My opinion:
Interesting service for sure. While a few of the sites indirectly link to your site, and some of the download pages have no PR (in most cases, the PR is actually the site PR), I can see this passing on a shitload of link juice to your site.

Quite a few of the sites actually use your specified anchor text to link back to your site. Plus, like Joozed says in his product description, in most cases there are almost NO other OBL on these pages! This is a great alternative to blog commenting, as your link will be on a quality site, void of shitty spam with links talking about 'gambling' and other nonsense you don't want your site related to.

What to use it for:
I could see almost any niche using this. This is a great way to diversify your portfolio of inbound links. Having only blog comments or only directory submissions looks like shit. If you're looking for a way to get quality backlinks from authority websites, this is one way to go.

These sites also get decent traffic themselves, so it is possible someone could see your software and check out your site.

Service Review

I received my review report today and I was quite impressed.

John had created a Screen Saver that matched my website niche which he'd then submitted to 100 websites.

What I received:
A Screen Saver: To be honest the Screen Saver is not that great, but then it was good enough to pass the editorial review and be published so really there is nothing to complain about here.

I received a comprehensive report which included:
1) and html file which contained a list of all the sites my screen saver was submitted to
2) An excel sheet which included the exact url where I could find my software and link where possible. This also included the PR of some of the sites
3) The .exe screensaver file which did not include any virus, tojens or adware. They included by url in the screensaver for a little extra touch too.
4) the pad.xml file which would allow me to submit the screensaver to future sites if I so desired.


SEO Benefit:

After all this is what we want ;)

  • Around 50 site give you a link back.
    • Around 20 of these give you a dedicated page which includes your links
    • Another 10 sites in the excel sheet give you a url to a search results page
    • I think it is possible to find another 10 sites that you could find a search match for your title
  • The 20 sites (in the cases I checked) give you an anchor text links too.
Overall:

I think the service is well worth the money.

The main benefit has to be the diversification of your link portfolio,
So may services on WF are based around the same technology, this is different and therefore must help more.

Suggestion:
Probably worth dropping some links into the pages if your using a cheap tool like LFE or xrumer.
