Ok, I just received my report (I bought the $25 package). Here is what I honestly think.
What I received was 23 web 2.0 properties and some (58) social bookmarks. The web properties look good, pretty standard stuff with the name brands including livejournal, blog.com, a hub page, etc.
Everything looks pretty good, I think this stuff will stay up.
The article was spun although I can't really tell how well because I never got a copy of the spun article. This technically wasn't in the agreement - however, presumably the article got spun, (that was part of the agreement) it wouldn't take much to include it.
The linking was the same on all of the websites I visited (which at this point is most of them). Also, they are one word links. So if your keywords are "blue widgets" you get a link for blue and a link for widgets. I'm not sure what exactly this does for SEO, but I would like to see a little variety and a "blue widgets" link or 2 in the mix would make me happier.
Also, you don't retain access to any of the properties. That is $7 extra.
If interlinking is important to you, there is no interlinking at all.
All in all, I would rate this service as a 6.5/10. Would I use the service again? In a pinch, I might have to. But for $25 I would like to see:
- a copy of my spun article
- title (ownership) of the properties(that is an extra $7)
- links that have both of my keywords together as anchor text
- random interlinking between the properties.
The reports are nice, looks like everything is pinged. The social bookmarking is a nice gesture although I'm not sure how valuable it is. Amfire was very nice and the work was done quickly (2 or 3 days).
I don't mean to hate on his service, but I think for $25 there is room for improvement.
