1and1.co.uk experiences?

Anybody used 1&1 for hosting? i'm sick to death of my current host so i'm looking to switch. I've heard good and bad things about 1&1 but that seems to be the case with most hosting companies.

Avoid 1&1 like plague. Search here and other forum and you will see what I am talking about.

They are the prime example of getting scammed by hosting companies. Google them, search web hosting forums... You'll see nothing but horror stories.

ffs it's my first post and it's to bitch.

I bought a 1and1 account to offload some load from my site5 account. It was a big fucking mistake. When my year is up there, I'm moving those domains elsewhere.

Admittedly I'm on 1and1.com and not .co.uk but if it's the same jackasses then run don't walk away from them.

It took a day for them to run the mysql command "create database". It takes
forever to get a response from support.

I don't see much positive here for site5.com but I've really liked my experience with them.

I've had no major hosting problems with 1and1 and I've been using them for a couple years now.

The support DOES suck, but you can't beat the dirt cheap prices.

1and1 is ok but not a good idea to run huge PPC campaigns onto because they can be down for 30-60 minutes sometimes. Was happening more earlier this year but not as bad now, at least for me.

I was the guy in the link domainreality posted. The end result was 1and1 asked me to pay it then refunded my money to me by crediting my CJ account(such a weird way of doing it). Unfortunately while trying to figure out what was going on their collection agency added two collections to my credit report and when I asked 1and1 to have this corrected they started ignoring me.

End result I had to waste more of my time getting together all my documentation(emails from 1and1, and a letter from the BBB with a letter from 1and1 attached saying it was their mistake and they had fixed it) and sending it off to the credit agencies to get my credit repaired.

So it was nice to get my money back but a pain in the ass experience in the end.

Run like hell, 1and1 is known in many circles as the worst company on the internet. And for good reason.

Now lets get another one of their marketing people in here to defend them like last time someone made a 1and1 thread.

i use 1and1.com for sewer sites because it's damn cheap.

1 and 1 are probably the WORST I've ever experienced. I'm still being spammed by them even though I moved everything off them. the latest email was apologizing that they had 'inadvertendly' allowed THOUSANDS of user details, including passwords, get hacked. Nice. If you host with them, make sure any passwords you used arent used anywhere else.
