"Three people convicted of hauling away liquor, wine and beer from a grocery store after Hurricane Katrina were sentenced Wednesday to 15 years in prison. The judge said he wanted to send a message that looting would not be tolerated when he gave the maximum sentence to Coralnelle Little, 36, Rhonda McGowen, 42, and Paul C. Pearson, 36, all of Kenner." :D

What about that cop in the Wal-Mart who was looting and whatnot while the TV cameraman recorded her doing so?

I don't really blame the people who looted food and water to survive. But the ones who stole liqour, televisions, and air jordon tennis shoes need to be locked up.

That's ridiculous. There are plenty of murderers and child molestors that get far less.

The US criminal justice system is so screwed up, if these people had lots of money for lawyers then they probably wouldn't even be going to jail.

And I seriously doubt these sentences will stand up under appeal, unless these three had lengthy and serious criminal records.

It's just a publicity stunt.. I doubt any one of them will serve their full sentence.

So true, there needs to be some sort of balance, I agree they should do some time ? what about the cops that where involved with The high end watches and other things ??? they will do less time ???

I can see if it where water food, first aid items then let them go as well
but 15 years is harsh I would be very interested to know others that had charges agenst them and the time they recived but judged by another Judge
I personaly think this guy woke up on wroung side of the bed that day

the uk legal system is a joke - youd get that for not paying your council tax - and half that if you commited murder
