I feel like such a follower, last year i bought some Sirius and XM radio stock, i guess it was the height of the buzz over Sat radio, well my investment lost 40% what a waste of fucking money.

Does anyone on here listen to Sirius or XM? I bought it and liked the service so i figured it would take off, i guess it hasnt done as well as i hoped.

Buy GOOG stock. Everyone uses google and unlike siri and xm they make shitloads of cash and have super high margins and growth.

yeah but GOOG is a fad like AOL was in the early to mid 90's, i was hoping to get in on something early and watch it blow up

If you have a little money to play with you can always go into Pharma. They play heavily off news and are extreamly volitle... but it's fun to watch.

I dissagree with the fad part. I dont see any competitor to google in the near future. In fact, Yhoo, ebay, amazon and msft will all be decimated by google in the next 4 years as goog continues to eat up marketshare.

Trying to get in on something early is a surefire way to lose money because you are speculating rather than buying a stock with a solid track record. I would feel much more willing to sink a large sum of money in goog rather than in a smaller stock with a weak track record even if the potential gains could be greater.

you guys are idiots... read intelligent investor by benjamin (sp?) graham before gambling

hell, read a fuckin 10k and 10q from the company! learn how to run a business and then look for those things in a stock investment! find out if management sucks or not! those are things that make or break a stock! don't speculate!

siri

your timing was way off on siri and xm.. i was lucky enough to buy siri at .40 and .74 a few years ago and sell in the $9 range. some of my friends were stuck in your same situation.. once everybody is talking about a stock, then it is usually too late purchase.. All the news has already been factored into the price.

look for companies that are down and out and try to capitalize when they turn things around.. i recently bought yhoo the other day for $25.. i was going to hold, but now i think im going to sell. looked like they were going to turn things around with their new ppc setup until i recieved an email today that said just about all of my terms were being removed from my ppc campaign.. yhoo is clueless.

yeah i was a retard when i bought it, i think i bought XM around $24 and Siri around $5 both of them are at 40% less now, thankfully it wasn't a lot of money so loosing it all wouldnt matter, I think ill stick to making money on the internet, its the only way the outcome is positive for me. Stocks is to much like gambling, and i dont think i ever won in Vegas or any other casino.

However long term do you think either one of these guys has a chance? I can hold the stock for years for all i care, if in 10 years they can turn it around i dont mind waiting.

I was an on floor derivatives trader for 5 years before I got into the internet. With that background here is the advice I would give.

Invest in yourself.

Corporate America is about making the insiders rich, the waste is unbelievable.

Wall Street is about how much money can I steal from this guy before he notices. Your broker knows less than you, he just knows how he gets paidm and trust me you dont begin to understand how they take money from you.

Mutual Funds are tools. You are paying a fee for them to advertise to new investors which invariably drive your returns down.

Real Estate - toilets never break at noon on tuesday when it is convenient. They only go apeshit at 3AM on Christmas Day when you are out of town.

Build a small solid company around something that you are good at. You dont have to be Bill Gates to be a success. You all by yourself can make a good living selling tshirts or ebaying or mowing lawns or writing or whatever it is you enjoy and are good at.

Most people are just too chicken to actually invest in themselves. They prefer to blame someone else for why they are stuck somewhere they dont like. Taking a risk and failing is nowhere near as bad as it sounds.

Wow I totally agree...good post.

mk, since you are down 40% now just hold on to them, think there will probably be a merger soon and that should help you!

shit, I wouldn't have bought a sat radio stock in the first place unless it was near or at a 52 week low and they had just hit or beat there est. - then I would not have held long!

wow, get 1 neg rep and go from being up 45000 or so positive reps to -42909167 point(s) total
oh, and if you are the one that gave me the neg rep without signing it you my friend are a punk ass gutless bitch!

hold

i would just hold it since it's down 40%.

did anybody here ever push the Sirius satelite affiliate program?
