Yeah, cause most chicks totally prefer creepy random text messages from strangers/nerds across the room than direct interaction with men that actually take the initiative to engage them.
 
What would Tom Cruise have done? Send her ice water? I think not. He would have gotten up, made small talk with her family and then blatantly told them the only reason he came over was to talk to her, he then would ask her name and ask her out, of course she would have accepted, and then when he goes back to his family he would just tell him he had to go say hello to an old friend.

so the moral of the story is, next time you are in this situation, just ask yourself, "what would tom cruise do?"

same here man, i was at the dentist and I told myself "if she walks back I WILL talk to her for sure" and so she did... TWICE.... and I pussied out both times, but she'd think I was on crack or something, my voice would shake... really took my breath away... Twenty something, slim Russian girl (i speak russian too so that makes me a complete idiot)...

lol, exact translation goes something like "wow, you're kittens, next time be human and talk to her" , but dude russia is the place to be seriously... pure quantity of hotness over there is mind blowing even to an average Russian ... Ask any Russian guy and he'll tell you "Kournikova ain't shit" you see much better quality left and right...

About it being particularly easier to pick up girls in Asian countries I have to disagree, in Osaka (shinsaibashi) i was approached by 2 girls in a club, but it didn't go anywhere... and the friend I was with (he knows the whole "The Game" pick up scene better than anyone) tried "hotel closing" some girls there too, but all they do is flirt but never do anything... think they just find it cool to be seen with Gaijins, but may be our definitions of a succesful pick up are different... plus it doesn' help that my pick up skills are non-existent :)
