How Many FB Ads Are Too Much?

I remember shoemoney saying something on his blog about having too many FB ads will cause some ads to never get shown or something like that...

I've been targeting a specific demographic and i find that no matter how many ads i have, only about 2 or 3 per demo are getting impressions, regardless of CTR.

Does anyone have a rule of thumb for this? Is there a maximum number of ads that i can rotate at one demo?
 


wouldnt it be fucking awesome to have a whole thread dedicated to facebook? maybe someone should start one.
 
sometimes ill have a close to a thousand ads per broad demo. no keywords. there is no rule of thumb, but test what works

He's wrong if it's in the UK, CA, or USA; right if it's a smaller int'l market.

You can have up to 5K ads in your account default, and they'll let you create 2nd accounts if you need more.

Your bid prices drive your impressions...
 
one thing I know is, Facebook will limit your impressions if your ad is similar to other ads in the system for that demo/bid range ( at least told to me by 2 reps ).

the one thing i didnt clarify is, if this is per account or per ad which could make a difference if say his 5k ads were all for 1 product with pretty much the same pic/title/description, bid ranges, and demos. I know it sounds crazy to make 5k of the same basic ad, but curious if this throttling is based per ad or per account if anyone has asked their rep.

yea i'm curious too ...

i know for a fact that if i have 4 different ads at females 25-35, all w/ ctrs of >.1 only 2 will keep gettin shown, the rest just sit
