So I guess the kid is okay, sick, but okay. I just saw one of his little friends outside and they said he spent the night in the hospital and now he's staying at his dad's house for a few days until he gets better.

I was bitten by a black widow when I was 12 or 13. We were playing the grass and I didn't even know I was bitten until the next day. I woke up with a big red bump on my forearm and you could see where the poisen was going through my vein up my forearm under my armpit (presumably to my heart). It hurt when I moved my arm and I felt a bit of nausea. Went to the doctor and got some pills, but it sure freaked me out (and the rest of my family).
