How Hydra Affiliate Network Screwed Me Out Of $25,000

wow..... I've only been in this game for 9 months but this is the first time i've seen some shit like this.

I know this to be a fact. Hydra knows about their fraudulent affiliates and allows them to switch accounts. Their shit traffic blends with good traffic and advertisers are on the hook for so-so leads. Hydra also scrubs the hell out of their fraudulent affiliates, with the affiliates knowing this. They will take anything, as they are booted or not allowed in most networks, so 10-20% of crap leads, is better than nothing. These are the chinese affiliates and the Fremont/Hayward affiliates using URL's like "ratedetectived.com", nwkads.com, bestdebtconsolidationhelp.com. With Hydra's full knowledge and cooperation, they stay under the radar by masking their near 100% conversion rate with outside clicks from other "partner" URLs. So Hydra gets paid the full amount from the advertiser, scrubs the fraudulent affiliates and makes a very tidy profit. This has been their model from the start and I personally know this, as I was around near the start and know the CEO well.

The relevance to this thread is that by using this strategy, they also run the risk of not getting paid at all by their advertisers that figure this out. The end result is that legitimate affiliates are bound to their terms that if they don't get paid, nor do their affiliates. I STRONGLY suggest a mass exodus from Hydra as they are the worst, most shady, greediest affiliate network out there and it all comes from the top, Mr. Zac Brandenberg. He will make his living by screwing people. Some people say he has a brilliant business mind, I say he is a smart criminal with absolutely no regard for anyone or anything but his bank account. Every penny he has earned has been at the expense of others and he will never change. Stay away.

win-

this is way better than watching LOST ... is there a way to turn this kind of threads into a series? like a weekly thing?

Lesson: Read your terms and conditions. I'm positive that there is a section that basically states "If the advertiser doesn't pay us, you don't get paid".

Holy schmoly ?

Fremont/Hayward affiliates
Care to explain that?

I live in the bay and the fact that you singled out fremont and hayward affiliates is is kinda wierd.

What is it about fremont and hayward that produces bad affiliates? Had to lol on that one.

Affiliates hate assuming risk. The culture of entitlement is hilarious. It's 100 times worse in adult though. I am a veteran of the adult world and just cruise the mainstream side for kicks. It's amusing to see the same kind of stuff goes on over here.

Running a business involves risk - yet affiliates seem to think they are immune from it. Deals go sour all the time and money is lost. Why would Hydra eat $25k as a PR move? It would be bad business.

Ultimately, affiliates are a dime-a-dozen. 95% of business comes from 5% of affiliates, the rest is just noise.

while not taking sides here- as I have no firsthand info and really don't care- I just have a quick tip for the hydra exodus surely now creating the next new 'uber' network - reckless comments like this thrown about in a public forum complete with outing landing pages (I certainly hope those are all blatant fraud) doesn't exactly lead me to want to to business with you.

Especially in a time plagued by govt agencies looking into sketchy marketing practices/advertisers it wouldn't be prudent for me to do business with those who might fire off a comment that certainly could be incorrect. Given networks never have the full story about affiliates (oh- say about a rebill product perhaps?), a claim that a site of mine is de-frauding consumers with big brother reading/watching could be very costly. As they say- loose lips sink ships.

Thanks- I now have another upcomming super dupenetwork to stay away from along with ROI Share.
I can say with nearly 100% confidence that the first LP outed is a Chinese fraudster, the second is most likely a fraudster (site is definitely not used for legit lead generation like that &also based on the fact that the person owning the site/affiliate account claims to be in the US [data from another network], doesn't actually exist..), and the third just looks like an MFA page (mistyped fraud domain?). Believe me, it's REALLY EASY to spot some of these fraudsters based on their sites and information gleaned from login and lead/sale data. I can't see why a network would have even let the first site into a network.

... and I thought that Hydra had a good team on approvals, based on the questions that I got. Agreed, those guys are scammers. Is anyone still alive at Hydra? Firings + mass exodus + fraud = crappy network.

Ya and Guess what Im that fucking 5% sorry that top 1% so you can fuck off mate keep trolling I used to run adult and you definitly come from a place of shady ripping affs "the didnt read tos" good luck with that B.S. Line of bullshit. Remember you would be nowhere without Affiliates no shady craigslist post and Instant message watch my free webcam bullshit you owe affiliates your whole business model. Might want to do a better job screening affiliates and you wouldnt have 95% garbage look what happened to hydra

Fremont is where their sign up IP is located. "Akanoc.com" is their ISP which is Chinese, so they are the Chinese fraudsters.

Everyone knows about these guys and most responsible affiliate networks have automatic denial filters set up for them. Most responsible affiliate networks do not allow the same affiliates with the same sign up IP and same referring URLs used to generate bad traffic use multiple accounts. Hydra saw the opportunity to make money off of them at the expense of others and has more than likely allowed, if not encouraged them to continue on as affiliates. It is quite simple to monitor these affiliates and kick them out or automatically deny them. In order to advertise razor thin margins to their affiliates and support 150 employees and still overfeed their pig of a leader, they seized the opportunity to capitalize on the opportunity of making money off of the chinese fraudsters, at the expense of the legitimate affiliates and advertisers that they claim to so ardently protect.

There, I am no longer a one-poster.

Well, many people here happen to be in that 5%. Someone making $25,000/week off an offer is definitely also in that category.
