NEW Facebook Ads

Where do you guys typically find out about the demographics for an offer? I've used quantcast and typed in the website I was promoting, but apparently that isn't enough.

You just have to know. Or test it and see what groups are converting, it's pretty basic tracking stuff.

im just still trying to understand the idiots that surf facebook..

50 fuckin clicks on an ad about requesting more college information, and not one prick filled out the tiny form. why the hell did you click on it?!

So it's you that has been posting up half a dozen IQ offers in the past 1-2 days... Those ads can really get annoying after seeing them on more than a few pages.

Sticks79, to answer your question... YES you can convert traffic and make sales out of them... But you really need to research your product and narrow down your target market in order to get a decent CTR on FB and a profitable conversion rate with your product. Definitely look deeply in what age groups are actually going to buy this product and they're not just clicking your ad because they thought the ad was interesting.

Remember, generating leads and making sales they're two really different markets.

haha actually it's not me. I wanted to get into IQ but I don't think I can narrow the target demographics correctly (plus I did my research and saw that there's already a stack of offers up). If you want I've got an offer or two you might be interested in for an exchange of information on IQ target demographics. Hit me up with a pm of you're interested. ;)

Seems like the IQ doesn't work for Europe though. Got a CTR of .39 and not one conversion. Time tot test something else.

LOL, that's one hell of a stereotype example. Having lived in australia literally my whole life, I would say Australia is and will always be the most difficult country to convert. The reason I say this is because Australia is multi-cultural. If you were to break down Australian racial groups, I would say there's less of Australian Native English speakers when compared to the Asian population in Australia. There's also the Aboriginese, a lot of people from European countries like Greece and Macedonia (quite alot of Lebonese too). It's really difficult to understand the way all these different cultues think.

what a steaming pile of complete horseshit. I'm an Aussie and I find Aussie traffic easy as piss to convert. The only problem is the lack of a large population, but Australian traffic is close to the easiest in the world to convert.

Why would you say that? I can't see what makes us different. :s

And in what niches? I'd presume it'd be dating right?

I doubt anyone would call 4 million users a lack of traffic. I guess we know now who's been running the IQ offers...
Converting in regards to CTR or Generating Leads or Generating Sales? Or, do you think Aussie traffic is easy to convert for all of them...

Also, this may be an obvious question, but is targeting for the IQ quiz only done with age and gender targetting?.

Yes. Split target each age group and each gender, make it as narrow as possible.

All 5 campaigns stopped at the same time..

They don't hint anywhere to what your bid should be right?
FB will give a batch of impressions for new ads. Then if your CTR sucks you need to improve your bid to get the impression.
If your CTR is good you can maintain your current bid and still get impression.

I had a whopping 1% CTR on a highly targeted add for the last couple days. Clicks, and click, and clicks - no conversions. Unusual, since it was in dating and normally I run at about 10% conversion...

I have an idea though to walk a user through filling in an email.

What if the offer is iframed with a fucking auto play audio instruction, saying, Congratulatu-fuckin-lations on your free shit, first fill in your email in the little white box below.

Will throw some up tomorrow and let you know how it goes. Not sure on Facebook policy on iframing offers but wouldn't this be a viable means to help with conversion?

Yeah, plus you know he has not only lived in Australia his whole life but never left either if he thinks Australia is more multicultural than all other countries in the world... it's average, at best.

its true, I haven't been to America, but i have visited other countries (mostly European and Asian)...
BTW, has anyone been seeing "Completed" status for their ads on FB?

Don't want to make it too obvious but yeah your targeting is wrong.

Anyone tried the IQ offer off A4D? I barely see it at all.

I was getting 14 cent clicks targeted towards 13-15 year old girls but to no avail b/c it was only converting 1 out of 90. This was for the Quiz you mobile content offer at ads4dough.

I'd pull the campaign if I had 1 in 90. You should be aiming for at least 1 in 40 or 1 in 50.

Yes I'm sure those aborigines are tearing down conversion rates for everyone!
