Facebook Social Ads

I got some acai ads denied "this content is prohibited from being advertised on Facebook". How the fuck is acai prohibited from FB, that's the most innocent thing you could possibly run an ad for.

I think they don't want diet ads. I tried a green tea ad and was shut down.

Looks like he was browsing through nicky's blog and saw the idea. but anyhow, facebooks not going to allow "those" type of ads to be flying around the place. Unless you state something like "Find out your Crush now" instead of "Someone has a crush on you" since fb thinks that inaccurate to the targetings. You also have to state that its a mobile campaign and they'll be charged on the monthly basis. And yes yes we know if u say sometihng like that your ctr gonna drop, your converstion rate gonna drop. But thats how fb work, u cant do it like adsense where u just throw something up and kinda hide the fees.

I'm not sure what your 'quote' was all about...a link to my profile? Thanks for inadvertently plugging my blog, I guess...lol.

Actually, I got the idea from that other thread in this forum "Ringtones vs. Crush". Then, I saw the post on Nickycakes' blog. Then, I saw the post on Shady's blog, etc. I could go through my whole thought process but we don't have all day and it's irrelevant anyway.

Thanks for the FB advice though. I did metion in the ad copy to "try our mobile crush calculator today", but they must be pretty tight on these kinds of things.

I'll have to tweak and re-try.

Have you even read the Facebook guildelines?

Advertising Guidelines | Facebook

Facebook Ad Guildelines said:
9. Prohibited Content
  1. We do not accept advertising referencing, facilitating or promoting the following:
    • Tobacco products
    • Ammunition, firearms, paintball guns, bb guns, or weapons of any kind
    • Gambling, including without limitation any online casino, sports books, bingo, or poker
    • Ringtones
    • Software downloads, freeware, or shareware
    • Scams, illegal activity and/or illegal contests, pyramid schemes, or chain letters
    • Uncertified pharmaceutical products

Basically if it's not FDA backed and regulated your SOL. Better get creative!

Well, my ads were shot down. They reference section 8 and 9 of the Advertising Guidelines.

OK, so this is a "crush" offer with picture of a rose and something like "Someone Likes You".

I can see where MAYBE this goes against Section 9. But Section 8??

"8. Language and image content
    • Provocative images will not be accepted.
    • Ads may not contain, facilitate or promote adult content, including nudity, sexual terms and/or images of people in positions or activities that are excessively suggestive or sexual.
    • Ads may not contain, facilitate or promote offensive, profane, vulgar, obscene, or inappropriate language.
    • Ads may not contain, facilitate or promote defamatory, libelous, slanderous and/or unlawful content."
What is offensive or vulgar about that??

It's bullshit! Keep trying haha

They don't allow those Crush Offers because they are very similar to Ringtone offers. You have to enter personal data before you really know what you are going to get until you read that fine ass print at the end.

If you want it on facebook, you've got to redirect it to an acceptable page via meta or php redirect.(make a shitty landing page in PS... it'll take you 5 minutes.) Put you click pprices at 1 cent. then, when it's approved, change the redirect to the offer. Done.

Could get your account suspended if you get caught though.

very. i tried promoting some sort of a download on facebook. i made like 100 bucks in the first 30mins and then everything got deleted cuz they dont allow downlaods

Anyone know if getting heaps of people to click the thumbs up on your ad will mean it gets shown more?

lol if youre going to thumb up your own ad. their gonna know.
Wrong... their ad reporting system stays annoymous according to what I last read. Of course, who knows if they are actually tracking that data. I'm sure it is more of a flagging system, as ads getting thumbs down will be reviewed, and those that get thumbs up probably won't receive any benefit, atleast until they implement this new system.

Who's seeing good returns lately. I ended up at 120% ROI yesterday. That was nice. Today I'm sitting at around 200%, but I expect that to cool down as the day goes by.

Yesterday was just 30% here for me. 270% return for today, but it's just too early to tell anything for certain.

Ok, so I'm pretty new to advertising via Facebook (had 2 fake accounts running just shy of a week now, and breaking even so far... hooray!).
I haven't even seen my own ads, and they're pretty targeted to specific stuff that I'm actually interested in, so I kind of expected I would by now.

So are you even able to see your own ads on the side bar there?
I mean, not serving ads to the people that made them would be the easiest way to stop people from thumbing them up.

Also, any one discovered any new coupons?
It seems the only one still available is the VISA one *sigh*

They just approved a couple of creatives and went back into hiding again.

I wait all day for these few minutes; how pathetic. Fuck!

Yeh, they approve creatives at about 1:30am my time. It's annoying as fuck because you have to wait 24hrs.

Submitted 14, got 1 approved. 1 rubbish one.

I just had my best day ever, today. On ads that weren't even advertising the right offer. Shows how much Facebook interns really look into the ads and landing pages anymore.

If I can make money fucking up my ads, you guys should ba able to do it doing it the right way.

You guys that can't make money on Facebook suck. Really. Really. Really. Suck.

Not to rain on your parade, but everyone is making money from Facebook. It's just a matter of making sure that the accounts won't get disabled in the process. I don't know about you, but I literally have hundreds of creatives in my account. It would kill me to see it all gone in one audit.
