New design is up, and it looks like they didn't screw us. Two ad's can be displayed at a time and the ad block is a much more prominent spot IMO.

I agree, the ads arent showing up in the new design for me yet, but I do see the placeholders and they're in prime clicking position, esp when viewing pics. Hopefully an increase in CTR will result..

Btw, if you haven't seen the new design, preview it at Login | Facebook. It may not work for some, but they say it'll roll out automatically for everyone soon.
 
Facebook is getting greedy...
Good: They finally realized you should put ads above the fold
Bad: Now there are two ads per page. Sometimes social ads share space with bigass banner ads, which will definitely sap your CTR.

From what I gathered they will show two ads sometimes...and that sometimes is most likely going to be when you have a high ass CTR to kick it back down.
 
on the plus side, they seem to also be showing a social ad on top of every banner ad, so social ads won't have to compete with banners for impressions.
 
Just dropped 2 ads on FB over lunch. Highly targeted, relevant and hopefully not banned. I'll follow up with reports on how this works. I link directly to the landing page of what I'm promoting. Hope that doesn't blow FB's mind.

None of the direct link campaigns I tried to start over the weekend got approved. I even copied 1 currently running ad and just changed the page it points to and I got the big ole DENIED!

Well, darn if that is true because I thought I had a novel approach to their campaign. I'll find out soon enough.
 
I use my own in house tracking link that redirects all my offers and I very rarely get denied for doing it.

 I'm really not sure what I did. Here's Facebook's take:

* The image of this ad is either irrelevant or inappropriate. As per section 6 of Facebook's Advertising Guidelines, the image on your ad should be relevant and appropriate to the item being advertised. This ad should not be run again in its current form. Please make the necessary changes to your ad before reposting it so that it adheres to the above guidelines.
* This ad does not meet the requirements for dating ads or services set forth by Facebook's Advertising Guidelines. The product or service being advertised must be targeted to the appropriate, relevant audience: users aged 18 or older and who have listed their relationship status as single. In addition, the image on your ad may not be provocative or inappropriate. Lastly, the ad text or image must clearly state and represent the company or product that is being advertised. This ad should not be run again in its current form. Please make the necessary changes to your ad before reposting it so that it adheres to all of the above guidelines.

Hmm. I DID target men over 18 who were single and interested in women.

Was the photo too provacative? I didn't think so.

I didn't specifically mention the company by name. Is that needed? Why don't they just have a freaking display URL?
 
Someone else pointed this ad out before. My ad wasn't approved, but THIS was?!?!?

I honestly don't get it. But I do salute you www dot cashkrazy dot com person your lame ad and your bad math landed you a spot my ad couldn't get.

But I already use the word "bitches." OH! The company name. Yeah, that's the ticket.

Apparently I don't need to worry about centering the picture. Man, those are some ugly ads.

No idea, here's what they emailed me :

Hi,

They make no bloody sense, i got rejected this morning for an ad and it said my text/photo didn't relate to the product.

Fuck, I wrote Love Blue Widgets? and put a pic of a blue widget how the hell does that not relate?????

Morons!
