Facebook Social Ads

Well I've read this whole darn thread and decided to give facebook ads a go. If anyone is interested, my initial results aren't so good. I've managed to get some email/zip campaigns approved but only by making the ads so freakishly boring that my CTR tanked.

I noticed something WEIRD though. I was getting traffic at 15 cents and making .30/click on freebie email submits. Volume was low, like I said the CTR was no good, but I'm just starting out. 24 hours into it, the email submit campaign won't convert anything at all. I raised my bid just to get traffic to see if it's a conversion anomoly, but nope. Was seeing a 10-15% conversion from click to lead on email submits on the first day, then it dropped to like 2% the next day and beyond... almost like the sponsor decided it's not gonna track for Facebook traffic anymore.

I guess this is a comment more on email/zip submits than on FB ads itself, but has anyone noticed the same thing? I'm somehwat new to affiliate marketing, so perhaps I've just discovered a known fact about email submits?

I haven't been doing this long but what I've been having trouble with is getting the volume I need. I'm converting well and making about 100% ROI but even with 0.2 ctr and .16 cpc I'm only getting a 6 or 7 clicks an hour. It's been consistent like this over the past few days.

What if I were to make a duplicate ad exactly the same, and run it simultaneous with its counterpart. Would that be a good way to get more impressions/clicks?

From my experience that won't get you more impressions. You're also obviously targeting some minuscule amount or you need to raise your cpc.

On zip/email submits, if the advertiser doesn't like you traffic, meaning they aren't making money by people completing THEIR offers, they will start to scrub free email providers like yahoo.com, hotmail.com, gmail.com etc.

This will take your 10-15% down to like 2%.

So at that point you're just building them an email list they can spam and you with nothing.

Ive submitted over 40 ads in the last 3 days and NONE were approved. FB is harder than G on all fronts. I too am trying intl offers, so maybe the cloak/redirect will help. Its funny, cause for different offers, different copy, imgs, they all get the same bs rejection response..TOC # 3, 9 and 12.

You need to be creating more than 40 ads in 3 days and yes you will want to geo target your LP for international offers.

Make more ads to get your volume up and shoot to hit your daily spend limit everyday.

The same thing happened to nearly all the email submits that I promoted on FB. Great conversion rate in the beginning and then, after a few days, it drops to between 1 and 5%. In my opinion, it's the advertiser finding out you're promoting the offer on Facebook (which they don't like). From what I've seen, the network itself will either ignore or deny it.

What is up with not reaching my spending limit? I Have 500 as a spending limit, yet I only manage to spend around 120 a day sometimes less. I'd like to get to $1000 or more spending limit, but it seems I only reach the spending limit when I'm bidding ridiculously high. Any suggestions?

increase your CTR, expand to new demographics, find new offers.

Nice, facebook account banned in 5 days that must be a new record for me! And considering what i could do this account was squeaky clean.
anyone else wake up to a nice surprise too? i noticed a lot less dating ads around today.

not sure if this is directly related but i've been having the same issue and i've noticed that FB is running many more skyscrapers than they used to - with less text/image ads showing on my end.

CPCs suck lately (so damn high!), and the traffic is so inconsistent (for conversion rate)... I'm giving up on FB until I have a new campaign to run. I miss the first months after FB launched their Flyers... my CPCs were 4-5x less than what they are now.

I enjoyed a nice two day ban but they reactivated my account. :)
