You need to call AMEX before you spend any money at places like adwords or facebook, have them note your account as a "high volume client" and let them know you'll have a lot of repetitive charges from the same merchants. The last time I spoke to an AMEX the rep said their system flags accounts where the same vendor charges the same amount (daily limit) within a certain time frame. From a risk management point of view that is perfectly reasonable but it doesn't work well for us, just call them and make sure they note it on your account.

I warned them before and after...several times. Each time they've said they noted my account. Ha...

Then I guess your spending limit is not really "unlimited" is it now?

There is no such thing as an "unlimited" credit or charge card, just one with a really high discreet limit.

...That had nothing to do with a limit and no I don't have one on my AMEX. It had to do with AMEX shutting it down due to suspected "fraud" charges coming from facebook when I told them several times that there will be daily charges.

Theres ways around FBs attempts to keep foul playing advertisers out. It seems like they block your billing address if you get termed BUT there's an extremely easy way of getting back in.

Dr = Drive
Ave = Avenue
Rd = Road

etc, you get the point. The CC# will still verify because the merchant accts backend is intelligent enough to know that ave and avenue represent the same thing.

Ps. I believe FB reads the forum so this may die.

Well if you're using a visa/mc card their AVS system only verifies the street numbers + zip code.

Anything that isn't in bold can be changed to anything else and the card will still pass the AVS check with most merchants.

Does anyone have a working solution to automate the changing of bids? (so i can run my ads during a specific time) My ROI at night is way better than morning, so I'd like to focus there, but I have so many ads its an absolute pain to manually change the bids.

Yeah it would be nice to be able to have like check boxes next to all ads and be able to Pause/Resume/Change Bids of all ads that are checked. If Facebook DOES read this forum, you should consider this ;)

Please don't. That's just another thing that will be fucked up and along with them adding something like that they would break 10 other things.

international offers

How do you guys deal with getting international offers approved? the networks that I'm with will redirect IPs outside of those countries, which is why i think the mods reject my ads. I've used redirects to show 1 offer initially and switch to my offers afterwards but today I woke up and every single ad was axed....

I submitted 10 ads and they were all denied. They all got this violation

The destination URL of this ad violates part or all of sections 2, 12, and 13 of Facebook's Advertising Guidelines. This ad should not be run again in its current form. Please make the necessary changes to your ad before reposting it so that it adheres to the above guidelines.

Its a dating offer to create a free profile that uses a tracker link. could the tracker link be the problem because the url doesn't = the destination url?

international cont'd

-- -- what urls besides dev.face... or ips should i cloak? besides getting white labels my only alternative is to cloak to the same offer, where my cloaked url does not pass thru the affiliate tracking

I have a site up that cloaks and geotargets at the same time. For example, for a UK offer, it goes to the affiliate link for UK visitors and to the actual site for non UK visitors. If you want, I can share the script here.

Anyone else having this problem? For the past 4 days the main stats page hits my daily spend limit and stops showing ads at like 11pm PST. However, for those days I'm always under that limit when I get billed. Facebook is billing me for like 22 bucks less then my limit, or in the case of yesterday about a thousand less then my limit. So when I go to ask for an increase the CS people are just like the only way we can increase your limit is if you consistently hit your limit and are billed for it.

WTF! I am hitting my limit...why am I not getting billed the full amount?? Did those clicks not actually come through but FB doesnt know about it until later? How am I supposed to increase the limit now?

That sucks! And the worst part is that FB will eventually charge you for all the missed clicks over the past 4 days. I guarantee it!

This would be very useful and I would appreciate it :)

I had a script made that does this. I posted it on my blog a few weeks back. Feel free to use it: A Great Geo Targeting Script – Free Download | NeilsWeb.com
