$175 from 18,000 visitors is absolutely horrible. If you are getting that much traffic, don't waste it by sending it to ebay. Hell, I bet adsense would earn you more.

I didn't say vsitors, i said clicks. lots of people click multiple times.

Or ebay's click reporting stats are off.....

I'm sure lots of the clicks came from this thread, people just testing and messing around to see how PHPbay works...

i get about 200 visitors a day (150 to fender site, 50 to golf balls)

i have adsense on there as well.

Sounds like you have a strong relationship with your wife.

Not quite as strong as the ass-to-mouth relationship I have with YOUR wife, but pretty close. BTW, she needs that hairy bush trimmed. The curtains ain't supposed to match the rug in length.

hmm, that's not what i heard.

the word is that she ripped you a new a-hole and you begged for more.

I actually taught my idiot wife how to setup a PHPBay site. Took about an hour. She now asks me what I think about the niche, we do some research, and if it's a winner, I'll install it, skin it, and she'll create the content and pages. Took her 3 hours to do 2 domains this weekend. PPC @ $0.10/click has already driven 450 clicks to the two sites. 67 click troughs to Ebay and $76 in revenue. Wife, who is a non techie, is super excited. I've given her $1500 spend limit over the next 30 days to create sites, buy domains and PPC, etc. What a wonderful world it would be if we sat together all day, pushing links to ebay affiliate account.

Not really sure you could make a living off of these sites but sure does add a nice supplemental income. Although, I guess if you had 100+ of these then maybe you could. All depends on your term 'living off of'

That's sort of the goal by the end of the year, to have 50 or 100 sites performing, or at least breaking even. I have no problem breaking even, because I'm still gaining experience and am very unlikely to repeat mistakes for sites 100 to 150 next year! I figure you get a good blend of niches, some paying pennies and some paying a few dozen bucks a day, multiplied by 50-100 sites over a year, you're in the 10K to 20K ballpark, or as I call it, 50% of my yearly beer money.

If you making a profit on anything you can make a living on it.

Just scale the fuck out of it.

thanks for all the help Gordon I am buying this plugin from your sig b/c of all the help you just gave me in this thread.

This is a really interesting thread for me. I have been looking at BANS and now this plugin. What annoys me about both systems is that they require a database backend. So instead of whine I have built my own system. Currently I call it porcupine. It requires not DB backend and only 1 simple config script. I have setup two sites using the script so far and would appreciate feedback. What features do you think are important, what am I missing, what do you like, what do you dislike?

Check out the production versions at Cool Ipod Auctions and Abercrombie Gear

Hopefully I will be able to release my code to the general public once it works well enough.

Thanks! i appreciate it. Let me know if you have any questions or need help setting it up.

I bought it and set it up. Am I right I just make a link in my EPN account and pull the "campaign id" out and put it in my plugin wp options? Do I then erase the "custom id" field?

Thanks man.

Yeah it's definitely possible. I was just thinking in terms of getting links into 100 sites would start to get tough... You can definitely scale it though and make some coin though (otherwise what's the point). :)
