Seriously, is John paying you to post this?

You can check out mark wiegel's top100 money making blog listing at 45n5.com/top100

I would advise taking a long term view when you're planning your blog monetization, ideally one that doesn't involve posting to your blog multiple times a day.

a lot of the top bloggers are personally posting 3-4 times a day, which i think takes away from the other stuff you could be doing...

John is not posting multiple times per day, he has guest posts occasionally.

In addition, he is building a brand and thus making his blog traffic defensible. This, in my book, is a solid long term approach.

No, John did not pay me to write this.

quit sucking john chow dick like the rest of the digital point newbs. there is absolutely 0 "informative" content. even the guest posts are shit.

Smashing head into wall...

Thanks Andrew! This thread really helped to clarify my thoughts. And just think. I was looking to automate some blogs and I didn't even create my first one yet!

The biggest killer is most people finding cool stuff all the stuff and then deciding they need to look for more cool stuff - plugins, social sites, directories, whatever...

I'd suggest just getting started, and if you listened to the latest edition of my friday podcast, the neverblueads rep was saying that diet, dating and toolbar downloads are going like hotcakes at the start of the year.

seo mike is doing his autoblog offer at the buy/sell/trade section, so you could get started if you get hostgator through him,...

although i'm doing more ppc these days, when i was more focused on blogging, i'd start a blog, and once it starts getting more traction, i'd go out and submit it to more directories, and bring more traffic to it.

i guess my personal preference is to have a single blog that's make $2k a month, rather than 10 blogs making $200 each...

and once you hit your first $100 day through blogging, it motivates you to step up your game and bring it to the next level....

Im a believer of you andrew =)

I agree with you man. We hear people everyday complaining in every corner of their life. that they make less money online and keep looking and looking and looking for more stuff. Go to the Free Ebook Download Threadand Script and Ebook Thread. Most people there are grabbing from one ebooks to another ebooks and softwares. Shitss!! 85% of them didnt even implement the ideas contain on the ebook. They just read it and throw it away. Its like "read it, forget it and keep searching for more..."

Im consistently earning 5 FIGURE INCOME every month.. by selling ebooks, doing web designing and development, etc. And of course, I do have several blogs which is based on drupal and joomla. I also use wordpress.. and guess what? I use wordpress to create a membership site, etc.. hehehe. what i do is create a module or plugins to extends its functionality. And I make money on it too by selling those plugins for $24 =) Sweet right? Try to think about this - How many people are using wordpress and not satisfied with its functionality? hundreds, thousands..

Last 2 weeks earnings selling wordpress modules and plugins:

$24 x 1593 = $38,232 in less than 14 days. Wow! Thats unbelievable! Thats the benefit of being an elite programmer. hahaha!!!

Got to go now!!!

Wow long thread here.. and very informative too especially for newbie like me..

I've tried to create a few auto video blog using wordpress blog and seems we can get organic traffic through the search engine.. so far not too much and still have a lot of room for improvement on its and actually this is the main problem form me to get traffic to my sites.
Anyway can do it part time only due I'm working 9-6 right now..

If you've limited time, I suggest you focus on building one blog up to about $100/day, then tapping some of that to hire and outsourcer to replicate your system.

Along the way, besides submitting to blog and website directories, you might also want to do link building.

As you've read my personal preference is to have one powerful blog, from which you can launch other blogs and product or affiliate sites, rather than have 100 blogs making $0.10 - $0.50 per day...

but then, that's my preference.

you will probably learn more from building a $100/day blog too.

Andrew, Thanks for your advice, actually I'm preferred to have 1 blog making $100/day. I think it easier to me to manage a single blog. But in my case I'm not good in writing, so to update single blog with quality post also will take me longer time... :(

Ha, He did not building a brand, he already had brand build up. He started Fresh new blog to test out without his name on but I haven't heard that project update yet..

I would not start Auto RSS feed blog or Auto feed Video blog anymore..I got slap from big G last week..not only ban from adsense but no more SERP in G.

I would say what Andew said, put everything on one or two blogs.

coolest-gadgets dot com took over one year to generate some income(he posted like crazy by himself and oursource writer)..I think his site makes well over $1000 per day.

Andrew:

Why are you going more into PPC?

I started a WP blog shortly after reading this. Bounce rate is about 80% and Conversion is about 10% of the other 20% or 2% overall.

Organic traffic is slow so I promote it through PPC.

I originally direct linked though PPC but found conversions (and quality score)much better by diverting through the blog first.

But again, do you have blog burnout or just can't shake the PPC bug?

Erm, cos I am doing both ppc and blogging?

there's a convergence of ppc and organic SEO.

you can use PPC to test for keywords and create content (whether through blogging or content) to pull the traffic.

You can also do fully auto or semi or manual blogging to test for keywords, look at your google analytics or awstats and see which keywords are pulling traffic to your blog and create PPC campaigns for those keywords and lateralize it if you choose...

burnout? nah, i just enjoy it, just that with running 4 new projects, and figuring out this whole dedicated server biz and system management, it takes a bit of time, so i dont always get to do 5 posts a week...

but blogging is a good way to start out if you want to get your feet wet...

Here's an observation and a suggestion.

90% of the people reading this thread will never do anything about it.

They will then flitter around and post questions like "Can someone teach me how to make money online?"

I get enough fan mail, so you don't need to put "interesting thread" or "good info" type comments here.

Help yourself by taking action, setting up a blog, and if you start generating income, post about it here.

If you run into problems, post about it here AFTER you have tried a couple of things to fix it.

Fixing it will help you learn, and 99% of the time you're on your own...

Best of all, if you start banking in a big way, post some screenshots here.

I am making money now. I used to talk a lot. Actually I used to talk a lot of shit. Well, I still do and I make money off my blogging and forum now, plus my other websites before I came here to WF.

By the way, screen shots are for pussies, direct deposits and "real" checks are for men. But I blog for business, and others affiliate blog. Thats one thing I dont see here much, is blogging and marketing for yourself.

It took me 9 months and that is why I haven't been here. Now it is a $100,000k a year deal with 3 blogs and a forum and have now partners with one of the biggest mortgage websites on the internet.

Andrew, I can't give your ass credit, but I'll give you 5% from some of the words you have typed. So, thanks and I am glad you have changed your MO here on blogging. Good tips.
