Ron Paul is a racist and thinks you are dumb enough to believe him!

You're not taking into account that women overall cost more than men. Not every woman wants to drink a bottle of schnapps and pop one out on the couch to save a few dollars. Nor do they want to skip doctors appointments in the first few years of their childs life.

Sorry I didn't realize I was going to have to get into my whole previous health care plan here :P

Everyone had diffrent allowances. Women got more than men, Families got more than single people. Also women's annual "well visits" were completely free as was each child's yearly visits.

I am a woman. Do you want to know how much I used of my yearly allowance? Usually no more than 500 dollars. Once they told me I would be financially rewarded for NOT going to the doctor I was like "yeah! I can do that" (I love being finacially rewarded for practical behavior) I would venture to think other Americans would do the same. And like said for the the ones that had no choice and are unhealthy they only had to pay up to 2K out of pocket (no matter how bad their issue was). That's really not that much to ask for and really does incourage people to only use the resources when they truely need them.

15% of your money hey?

I recon america having private health insurance and spending the world average on defence would give you more than 15% back alone!

I only earn money for security reasons, i rarely spend it.

If your one of those people that believes money makes you happy then either
a)you haven't earn't enough yet
or
b) your one of those lame people that always spends, and its always never satisfying.

Yes 15%. With all the social programs you are getting off on my taxes would surely go up 10-15%. I'd rather give that 10% to the charity of my choice than give it to the government.

I get tired of fucking supporting 18 year old girls who already have 4 kids (often with another one on the way) and live off my tax money. Let me decide where to sent that shit. And believe me, I'd much rather it go to our defense.

In a private health system, maybe.

But i know in public health systems men actually cost the most, because they are less likely to want to see a doctor, and therefore get more severe diseases...

like are less likely to get heart disease ditected earlier
less likely to detect cancer

I was referring to the US system, I might be an Aussie but I'm in Chicago. In public you are probably right, although the amount of time my lady friends in Australia spent at the gyno and doc is ridiculous. I used to only go to the doc for stitches, and even then, that was only if people started complaining to me about my wounds.

Do you think people go to the doctor for fun? or when they are really sick?

The health industry wants to make you believe all this stuff about it being more expensive and pushing tax's up and people using the doctor for fun and doctors pay lowering

But you know, its all wrong!

read ANY and i mean ANY respected International Medical Journal and the scientific consensus is that socialized healthcare should be a human right.

there is empirical evidence for this.

Thats why men get more serious diseases and ultimately cost more later in life!

America has a higher tax rate than most countries with socialized healthcare.

Go figure.

People go to the doctors for the most benign reasons. Ask your doctor next time. People think doctors are god and will go to them when they have a cold or the flu, sure that the doctor can prescibe some magic pill to make it all go away. (It's a virius you morons there are no cures for viruses!) I also have a friend who is very educated but takes her children into the doctor ever week because of the latest toy recall or because one of her children is not speaking clear enough, or the other child is walking on their tip toes instead of flat on their feet....news flash! children are weird wonderful creatures they do strange things for no reason and they don't need to see a doctor because of it!!

I agree there needs to be changes in health care but you'll never get this country to agree to free health care. I'm merely suggesting a good alternative

Insomniac - lol yes you are right, we had to be begged to come to the rescue. funny this thread started out about ron paul who is an isolationist and would like to go back to those times.

No shit right, I was in a motorcycle accident, my right shoulder and left hand were fucked, I shrugged it off, had some pretty twisted sex while in this condition, and completely ignored the problem. Back at work I was begged to go to the doc about what I figured was just bruising, turned out to be a big ass fracture in the shoulder and two fractures in me hand. Ended up getting pins put in the hand and taking a few weeks off work to recover from surgery (no one wanted me back at the office in my condition.)

guess what most of those countries have lower taxes too because they don't spend billions on defence!

Remember this

America has a higher tax rate than most countries that have free healthcare! This is because america has a massive defence budget.
What are our priorities?

Please name some of these countries that you are talking about. Canada is taxed higher. All countries in Western and Northern Europe are taxed higher. Last time I was in the Netherlands sales tax was 19% and they were considering raising it to 21%. Gas tax was well over $2/gallon. Income tax was over 40%.

Canada is taxed higher but only just! And thats only if you take into consideration personal income tax, if you include corporate AND personal tax then the US is taxed higher!

Australia is taxed lower + has socialised health, and once had socialised University
Japan is taxed lower + has socialised health
New Zealand is taxed lower + has socialised health
Ireland is taxed lower + has socialised health
S.Korea is taxed lower + has socialised health

the UK if you include corporate tax is taxed only 2.5% higher

this is just on comparison of TAX rates.

if you take total tax taken as a percentage of GDP,

the US blows the other nations out of the water

MORAL OF THE STORY! DON'T VOTE FOR GOVERNMENTS THAT WASTE BILLIONS ON DEFENCE.

thats about the only thing ron paul thinks government money should be spent on! not for invading but protecting boarders.

my real problem but republican conservatism

i don't mind conservatism, if its conserving the right things, but america has gone so far radically to the right, that whats "conservative" is actually pretty goddamn leftwing now relatively.

These supposed quotes of Ron Paul's racism actually come from an article attacking black racism, which happens to say positive things about Japanese and Koreans, who were also victims in the LA riots.

After September 11th I heard lots of calls for a US nuclear genocide in the Middle East. I even heard racist jokes by certain candidates during the Republican debates just last night. Nothing in this Ron Paul newsletter (written by him or not) either calls for death to blacks or makes jokes about them (though it makes comments about *Korean* store owners who shot black looters.)

As for some of Ron Paul's supporters being truthers and neo-nazis; lets take a look at other candidates. John McCain gave a commencement address at Jerry Falwell's Liberty University (who died last year.) Jerry Falwell, who blamed homosexuals for September 11th. Other candidates too have also tried hard to pander to Christian extremists. If this is a guilt by association of your supporters, let us carefully examine all of Romney, Giuliani, McCaine, Huckabee, and Thompson's supporters.
