Somehow Trump managed to overcome all of that and beat out 16 candidates. You can't stump the Trump!

Trump has no real campaign presence outside of NH while other candidates have been setting up shop around the country. His poll numbers are being driven directly from media coverage, but if you look at the full poll data, he usually performs worst against Hillary, is not considered a serious candidate by large margins and has the highest unfavorables of all the candidates.
What this means is once the press move on to the next hot topic, he will have to go out to the early states, do small venues with the local GOPs, shake hands with the commoners like everyone else to keep poling well and for those poll numbers to translate into actual votes. And on primary day, he needs people to go door knocking to get voters to the polls, but most importantly, he needs to know where to go. That doesn't happen if he doesn't have offices set up in the state well in advance.
Somehow Trump managed to overcome all of that and beat out 16 candidates. You can't stump the Trump!
