Trump for US President?

Is there any serious reason Americans should vote for Trump? I'm mean he seems a bit too exocit over here (in Europe). To most people over here he is kind of a circus monkey. At least this is how media treat him.

Why would you give him your vote?

I'm pretty sure that's the general consensus over here too, but then again, I live in a blue state.

Be careful man, don't look for those easy a->b->c in politics.

Let me tell you a story about how Putin came to be. Do you realize that when drunk corrupt bastard Yeltzin was on his way out, his handlers, aka. the Oligarchs in Russia (Berezovsky primarily), were very scared of the then Moscow Mayor, a communist with lots of popularity.

To counter this guy, they selected a little known small timer they KNEW were in their pocket. That guy was Vlad Putin.

How did that end up again? Ask Khodorkovsky what 10 years in Siberia feel like.

Maybe Trump is a plant or maybe it's a case of who's playing who. You know, the old cloak and dagger and double agents.

No one makes it to where Trump is, without bribing (i.e. donating) to people like Clinton.

Like Putin was seens as an easy puppet, Trump may be seen as an easy puppet. After all, history doesn't repeat itself does it?

Maybe Trump is exactly the kind of guy who is able to navigate those murky waters of politics. One foot in one place, one foot in the other. Controversial on some points (immigration, protectionism) and in with the right people on others (tough on Iran, Israel ally etc).

It isn't that easy man. Keep that story of Putin in mind, sometimes the puppet becomes the master. In fact, history is full of episodes of interim kings taking power and seizing it.

Try watching and reading something else than socialist European media.

Trump is the UKIP of America.

A KGB man and a Soviet Communist Party member is a "small timer". Right. Keep drinking that Putin Kool Aid! Don't forget to rail against leftists while supporting the biggest leftist and gangster in Russia.

Also you call Yeltzin a corrupt bastard (I don't disagree with you here), but it's not like corruption got any better under Putin. Many think corruption in Russia is more institutionalized than ever under Putin. But you're so blinded by this strongman that you fail to see it.

Putin was little known and a small timer in Russian politics = fact. KGB and communist member was nothing more than what any ambitious man did in that time, including many of the oligarchs.

He was selected by the oligarchs and then elected by the oligarchs who threw their entire media might behind him.

You calling Putin a leftist is absurd. Putin is an easy economic right man, with some of the worlds lowest taxes and an economy which is very much free market still. Obviously rife with corruption, but nothing and it's in different galaxies, compared to the straight up lawless state of Yeltzin Russia.

Lol 13% income tax is lower than Hong Kong.

Can you get us some proof that Putin is gangster and not the best ruler of Russia in past 50 years? Cause i can get you proof how much Russia is improved under his rule.

Hong Kong doesn't have an income tax. It has a 15% salaries tax. Big difference. Other types of income aren't taxed at all like dividend income, and income earned outside of HK.

Does Russia have a dividend income tax?

Anyway you know more about Russia's market economy than I do since if I am not mistaken you're Russian, but isn't there still a very heavy involvement of the Russian mob? Don't people still have to pay bribes to the cops?

A notable worsening of this ranking for Russia – from 90th place to 126th – occurred at the beginning of Vladimir Putin's second term as president; a drop of 36 places in only one year. An equally pessimistic picture emerges from the estimates of the average size of bribes which has substantially increased over the last five years. For example, according to the Interior Ministry’s Department for Combating Economic Crimes, the average bribe amounted to 9,000 Rubles in 2008; 23,000 Rubles in 2009; 61,000 rubles in 2010; and 236,000 rubles in 2011. In other words, the average bribe in 2011 was 26 times greater than the average bribe in 2008, many times the inflation rate for the same period.[3] According to Sergei Ivanov, the Kremlin chief of staff, the most corrupt spheres in Russia (in terms of household corruption) are healthcare, education, housing and communal services.[4] In comparison, independent experts from RBC magazine name law-enforcement agencies (including the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate) as the most corrupt sphere in Russia, which is followed by healthcare, education, housing and communal services, and social security services.[5] At the government level, however, the five top areas for corruption are as follows: Government contracts and purchases; Issuance of permits and certificates; Law-enforcement agencies; Land distribution and land relations; Construction.

There are many different estimates of the actual cost of corruption. According to official government statistics from Rosstat, the "shadow economy" occupied only 15% of Russia's GDP in 2011, and this included unreported salaries (to avoid taxes and social payments) and other types of tax evasion.[6] According to Rosstat's estimates, corruption in 2011 amounted to only 3.5 to 7% of GDP. In comparison, some independent experts maintain that corruption consumes as much of 25% of Russia's GDP.[7] A World Bank report puts this figure at 48%.[8] There is also an interesting shift in the main focus of bribery: whereas previously officials took bribes to shut their eyes to legal infractions, they now take them simply to perform their duties.[9] Many experts admit that in recent years corruption in Russia has become a business. In the 1990s, businessmen had to pay different criminal groups to provide a "krysha" (literally, a "roof", i.e., protection). Nowadays, this "protective" function is performed by officials.

In the end, the Russian population pays for this corruption. For example, some experts believe that the rapid increases in tariffs for housing, water, gas and electricity, which significantly outpace the rate of inflation, are a direct result of high volumes of corruption at the highest levels.[10] In the recent years the reaction to corruption has changed: starting from Putin's second term, very few corruption cases have been the subject of outrage. Putin's system is remarkable for its ubiquitous and open merging of the civil service and business, as well as its use of relatives, friends, and acquaintances to benefit from budgetary expenditures and take over state property.

How does Vladimir Putin’s spokesman afford a US$530,000 watch?

Pictures of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s spokesman wearing a watch worth US$530,000 (HK$4.1 million) have sparked controversy in the crisis-hit country.

Dmitry Peskov, who is given a broad remit to voice the views of the Kremlin strongman, was photographed wearing the pricey Richard Mille “Tourbillon Skull” timepiece as he tied the knot with Olympic ice dancer Tatiana Navka on Saturday in the Black Sea resort of Sochi.

As images of the glitzy event emerged, speculation centred on the striking black watch on Peskov’s wrist, its face decorated with a distinctive gold skull.

Opposition politician and corruption whistleblower Alexei Navalny identified it as the limited edition watch RM 52-01 designed by Richard Mille.

The watch is worth at least US$620,0000, he wrote on his blog, citing an e-mail written to him by the Swiss watchmakers. Various online retailers suggest a price of 488,000 euros (US$530,000), plus tax.

I also like how opposition politicians critical of the Kremlin mysteriously get murdered. Nope that totally had nothing to do with Putin. Nothing to see here!

Murdered Russian opposition politician's damning report on Putin is published Boris Nemtsov - Business Insider

The final report of prominent Russian opposition politician and Kremlin critic Boris Nemtsov, who was gunned down on the streets of Moscow in February, was published Tuesday by his former colleagues. It promises to be explosive.

The 64-page report, titled simply "Putin. War," contains all of the evidence collected by Nemtsov in the final months of his life as he looked into Russia's role in the ongoing crisis in Ukraine that has so far cost over 6,000 lives.

The various documents, pictures, and statements that form the core of the report have been painstakingly collected and collated by fellow opposition activists since Nemtsov was shot dead in a case that many suspect was politically motivated.

The FNC moderators were all over Trump tonight. Rand jumped in a couple of times, too.

This was the very beginning:

Trump seems to have handled it well. It got so blatant that by the end, the audience was turning against the moderators.

The most batshit insane candidate award goes to Lindsey Graham. This guy on every question says the solution is to send more troops back "over there" to fight the terrorists because they hate us for our freedoms. He makes Donald Trump look like Thomas Fucking Jefferson:
