Trump is the catalyst for changing the national discussion. The Democrats love it because he is taking the Republican's out of the safe zone. The Conservatives love it because he is saying things the blue collar wing of the Republican party want heard.
The consultants are annoyed but know they own the traditional candidates and will get paid more when the Chamber of Commerce Republican's start throwing big money to counteract the Trump effect.
It is interesting political theater. Our system has become comatose and fairly monochrome with both parties splitting hairs based on polling data, but both advocate creating a larger government to increase their power.
The small government advocates are Washington's biggest enemy. Trump is appealing to them, but in all reality they have very little power because they do not invest in government, they just buy t-shirts.
