Infant and mother mortality is a very important topic, as I simply do not want to see people die.
Also:
There is a curiously inverse correaltion to number of kids.
Basically, in countries with high infant mortality, people tend to have MORE kids.
It has been shown that educating women on pregnancy / child care and improving the health care surrounding pregnancy and infants leads to people having less kids as a result.
As another megatrend we face is over population - let's just see that LESS kids and moms die, OK?
