My wife has recovered nicely.
(Almost 3 weeks now)
She still has to take it a bit slower than usual, but everything is fine.

Yeah, it was actually a caesarian birth, so the title should actually read

"they cut her with a sharp knife, gleaming in the cold, glaring lights, then ripped her belly open. All I could see before I heard the screams was..."

But alas... length restrictions.

Actually, everything went really, really smoothly.

We did not just choose a C-section.
It is a pre-existing medical condition.

Taken in CONJUNCTION with the estimates of the kid's size at birth, a C-section was called for.

Turns out she was lighter than anyone predicted (still not small, but smaller than predicted)
