Three Weeks on Modafinil

I got a Rx for modafinil 3 weeks ago from my doc for my fatigue (I have problems waking up before noon).

So far, what I've noticed is that, if I use it for a few days, I'll get all these great ideas and stuff will start to click in my head. Like, stuff that I never realized were connected would connect. Pretty mind blowing.

It also helps with your memory and I've noticed that I can memorize stuff much faster when I'm on modafinil.

I thought the modafinil would make me superhuman like » Why You Are Suffering from a Modafinil Deficiency The Bulletproof Executive. But, after doing it for awhile, I realized that it won't make you do stuff you don't want to do like Adderall. The wikipedia page says that USAF pilots use it for 40 hour long missions without any decreased in performance; however, I tested it during an all-nighter and, wow, it definately SUCKED. no decrease in performance my ass.

Also, 1 in 1000 gets joint pain when they use Modafinil and I get it. It only shows up when I go to boxing class but it really makes boxing hard. I must take an hour rest after class or else I won't be able to do anything.

So, for me, modafinil sucks. I don't get why others are raving about it. The benefits are quite low and it isn't a magic pill like others talk about.

What I realized works much better was eating clean and taking fish oil, flax seed oil, D3, folic acid, b12, calcium, magnetsium, gaba, 5htp, and a few other suppz that was recommended in The UltraMind Solution. (this actually fixed my fatigue).

I'm thinking about trying DHEA to give me some energy. Anyone have any experience with this? Or, do you have anything else I should try? I'm always looking for some help with some mundane SEO work lol.

Oh yeah, my dosage ranged from 50mg on some days to 600mg during the all nighter. For modafinil, I think less is more and 50mg is good but it really depends on how tired you are.

200mg per day on days when I go to work. Not a miracle drug, just makes me feel like a fog has been lifted and I'm not tired all day (otherwise, I'm constantly sleepy). 100% fine without it (like now) but definitely helps me get through a long day.
A++ would use again.

Not eating take out 25 times a week tends to fix fatigue.

Used modafinil when studying a few years ago. Was good for keeping me awake and avoiding a drowsy feeling, but that was about it.

Also have noticed a crash 1-2 days later...but not sure if that was a result of modafinil itself or just not sleeping much the night prior.

I have crazy bad ADHD, modafinil and a large nootropic stack put me in the zone. I know people who take it and go to sleep so its not for everyone.

Im on week 3 of piracetam and choline. Amazing i also stopped 5-htp and st johns wort a year ago. Switched to Kava and fluoxetine. I'm def a super human version of myself right now.

How come is herb not enough for you guys? Why do you feel the need to put the chemicals in your bodies? =(

Look up coffee enema, if you are tired and want to really detox, taking supplements is not enough. Gotta take real action and get the junk out of your liver.

EDIT: nevermind read your post more carefully.

Was looking into piracetam and choline lately. Do you take the power under the tongue or put them in capsules? Was also going to try it with l-theanine / caffine ala black tea and a little marijuana.

How about people try and get 8 hours sleep, from say midnight to 8am, then force themselves awake with a load of alarms?

If you have any sort of will power, after a while, it'll be habit.

Also, caring about your work helps.

What kind of doctor do you go to, to get this? Modafinil sounds like the miracle drug for me.. I've seen the documentaries on it, read a TON of stuff on it, but just forgot about it.. Going to try to get prescribed as I fit it's main treatment use (worker sleep shift), and unofficial treatment uses.

Don't have a general practice doctor anymore, so no idea where to even go? Only go to the ER for when I'm literally dying, or hella sick, lol.

I can go to bed at 10pm, and not fall alseep till 6am. Some people can't fall asleep in bed.. Bought a new bed, I eat healthy, I lift/workout daily, etc. But my mind never stops, and I just get incredibly body/mentally tired and worn out.. I've tried for 3 years to fix my sleep issues, most I've been able to do was 21 days of waking up on a normal schedule, but fell off.. Couldn't keep forcing myself lay in bed for 4-5 hours a night thinking/hoping to sleep..

So, seriously, sometimes people need meds to help them out. I've never taken any meds, I've tried melatonin, but that doesn't work... Just makes me feel like a zombie and faded, but doesn't knock me out. I agree with the whole habit thing, but what do you do when you try, try, try, and try to fix your schedule for 3 years, and nothing changes. I should have gone to a doctor years ago, but meh not a fan of any mental pharm meds.

ps. I don't know how people are cool with taking stuff like Ambien, scared as hell I'll trip balls on it and won't get knocked out. Also addiction to that, no thanks..

...

Would smoke weed if I didn't get paranoid/scared, only thing that's ever made me sleep..

Everyone knows you don't lift.

For me absolutely nothing beats caffeine.

I haven't tried amphetamines but I don't want to and don't need to.

Over the summer I went over 3 months without caffeine, and completely reset my bodies tolerance. Now, twice a week I have around 60-90mg of caffeine (which really isn't that much) and because I have no tolerance I get a huge boost. On those two days I have huge productive days, generally more than the rest of the week put together.

It's strong enough that I'm not even sure I'd want something more potent as I can't imagine myself being more productive, and if I ever did want something more I can always just go to 150mg of caffeine.

In short, have a low tolerance so you don't need to be using more potent (and dangerous) stuff.

^^ Yeah, but you're like what? 21, I think? Wait until you're in your 30s, and it'll be different.

I remember being 20. Fuck me, I was like a work horse on cocaine. Absolutely unstoppable.

I used to have this problem too man. If I smoked too much I would get this crushed feeling and get uncomfortable. Buy a vaporizer and try taking only 2-3 hits. I get a break from my chaotic mind for several hours and don't experience the paranoia and scary feel like I'm getting crushed feeling anymore. You can navigate it better if you start slow I mean now I can vape what used to freak me out before and the scaryness turns into comfort if that makes sense.

I bought caffeine pills on Cardine's recommendation in some post about half a year ago and I got to say it's truly a magic pill.

I used to take Jack3d for focus and work but caffeine works just as well and holds for like 5-6 hours. And it's cheap.

I've never drank coffee in my life but 400mg seems to work best for me.

I've quit caffeine 6 months ago. Caffeine gives me more of a high than modafinil does. Also, caffeine gives me insomnia.

Going cold turkey off of caffeine had to be one of the worst experiences of my life.

Don't do ambien. I had it and its cool for about 3 days. After that, it stops working. If you use it for a week, your following week off wil be terrible. Like, you feel like a zombie and want to sleep but just simply can't. Ambien has to be the most over hyped/mareted drug ever.

What kind of doctor are you going to? I just found a cool/chill guy, told him what stuff I've been experimenting with (supps, diet, etc), and asked about that and he could tell that I'm not an idiot and just gave me an Rx (I also fit the diagnosis).

lol my friend has this really cool doc who prescribed him codine, viagra, xanax, testosterone creams, and ambien all in one visit... with no symptoms either. ROFL.
