Im struggling with calculus, am i a failure and should i kill myself(srs)

I hate the way Calculus is taught these days. You should try this: [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Calculus-Made-Easy-Silvanus-Thompson/dp/0312185480]Calculus Made Easy: Silvanus P. Thompson, Martin Gardner: 9780312185480: Amazon.com: Books[/ame]. It's the text that Feynman first learned Calculus from, and it develops a lot of the concepts more intuitively than a modern text. The version I linked to has been annotated and expanded.
I don't think that calculus is easy at all. Especially considering the way that most math professors teach it. Rarely do you ever have a teacher that provides you with a learning experience that be be used beyond application/memorization and actually teaches you the theory behind it - mostly due to them not having a firm understanding of it themselves.
I had a calculus class with a Greek professor. BEST math professor I've ever had because he forced you to think. His focus wasn't preparing us for the test but rather to ensure that we understood the conceptualization behind certain mathematical processes.
I learn better that way, which is why in most math classes I end up teaching myself how to do everything outside of class.

But, more seriously high school math is taught very poorly. I was a consistent D math student in high school. When I actually became interested in math and had some great teachers I had no problem getting high Bs and As through linear algebra so far. Figure out what aspects, or uses, of math interest you and you will find it much easier to learn. For me, learning how calc applied to physics and economics was far easier than just learning how calc works in general because applying the concepts in my mind helped me understand.

And this is a big reason education is failing. That conceptualization is missing from 99% of the classrooms. It's amazing what you can learn when you understand the 'why'

I loved calculus! Really easy shit once you get the hang of it. Would definitely take it over an English essay any day.
Yet you're using a bunch of programs that utilize calculus and it sure as hell won't hurt your efficiency. Shit, you want to understand the SERPs as much as you can, you need calc. Calculus is worth learning, if only to further understand basic truths of the universe.

Calc is the type of subject where the material is cumulative. If you don't understand something from the last midterm, then that gap in knowledge can fuck you over for the material you're learning right now.
Go back to the beginning, and do 5 questions from each chapter/section. If you can't do even one question without pausing for 30 seconds to "figure it out", it means you don't know your shit well enough from this particular chapter. Study it, then move on to the next chapter/section.
It sounds like a lot of work, but you only have to do it once. Once you're caught up, you'll learn new material a lot faster.
