Who's gotten LASIK done before?

Nice to hear you're improving. I wanted to get it but the doctor said you need to be 21+ and I'm only 17 (18 in a few weeks).

So how does this look then?

I got it done last year and it was worth every penny.

When I woke up from my first nap I felt like my eyes were melting out of my face because I forgot the doc gave me drops.

I had it done four years ago, best $6,000 I ever spent. My vision was horrible, so it was so weird to be able to walk to the recovery area directly after the operation without needing my contacts to see. The red eyes were freaky though, got a lot of stares for a week or two.

I've considered it, but your eyes can still regress again over the years from what I understand.

I had it done 4 years ago and I'll need to go back to get it touched up. Over the past year I've noticed my vision has weakened, but at least it doesn't cost me anything.

Good to hear it went well. I use daily contacts (focus dailies). They are really soft and watery - normal contacts feel hard and sharp in comparison. Was considering lasik but heard some people have problems with dry eyes and itching after a few years. And I'm really comfortable with my contacts so don't think I'll ever get one.

I've considered getting it done. My vision has been going bad since 3rd grade. I can't see a damn thing without my contacts. I was told by two doctors not to get it done until I'm 25, they said because your eyes are still developing or something idk. Not sure if I'll go through with it or just keep on with my contacts.

They redo it for free? That's whats up, I gotta look into it my vision is starting to getting bad. I used to have better than 20/20 but I can tell that's no longer the case. :cool2:

Not sure about other places, but I had my procedure done at a place called Herzig who give a life-time guarantee, although I think your eyes can only have it done so many times.

You people that put lenses physically onto, and lasers shot at, your eyes are my heroes.

I got hit in the eye with a golf ball ('haha balls on your face') when i was little, luckily it hit my eye ridge so, you know, I got 20-20 and can fly a plane if I wanted to and don't need to spend all the $$$ you guys do on glasses and lenses and procedures and visits to your eyedoctor and...what was my point again? I'm just bragging now...

Oh right, it was lucky that it hit the ridge of my eye instead of blinding me forever. It was a god damn bullet. Also, please say fore when you're golfing, please, there's a reason for it.

I can't open my eyes underwater, putting in eye drops is tough, I've just developed such a strong muscle reaction and aversion to stuff getting close to my eyes, I watch people put in contacts and I feel like the biggest bitch in the world because if I tried that I'd just produce so many tears and blink and cut my eye and bleed to death.

Glasses or nothing for me if I need them later, I guess...But till then, 20-20. I might not see the world in HD (20-15) but, you people are blind and I am your twitchy-eyed king. Your ocular deficiency amuses me; eat some carrots.

Wanted to get it done until I saw this.

You can ask just about anyone who wears contacts what it was like at the start, it was exactly like that. It doesn't feel natural at first. I remember it taking like an hour just to get them in when I first started out with them. You eye wants nothing to do with it, and does what it can to reject it. But after like a week or so you'll adjust and then it's gravy. Added benefit of being able to poke yourself in the eye I guess.
