Who's gotten LASIK done before?

With the newest technologies being used, is it still necessary to stop wearing your contacts for ~2 weeks before surgery? If so that is going to be the hardest part ... I haven't NOT worn contacts for even a single day in literally years.

Yes. Still necessary. Contacts reshape your eyes. I had that same problem. Sucked not being able to play sports for 2 weeks. No way was I gonna wear glasses while playing keeper for soccer / paying $200 for some rec specs.
 
I had wanted to get it done, but I imagined to be like the scene off Clockwork Orange and so I chickened out
 
Great to hear OP's experience since I am thinking about that... even though feel just fine in glasses...
