I am a complete newb and at this point want to just jump right in and start. I followed nickycakes' guide and just signed up for a few affiliates basically telling them I don't have a website/experience like he said in the tutorial. I haven't heard responses from any of them and was going to call today but read that they won't approve application of someone with no experience.

Do you they have more stringent application approval process since that guide was published? Did I screw up saying I had no experience? Or should I still call them and be truthful and hope I get approved?

Why do you need people's approval to call the networks? Sack up and do what's best for your business.

I don't want to call, tell them I have no experience and be denied from using that network for a while. Would rather just read up a few days, become more knowledgeable and formulate an acceptable plan to tell them.

When I started,I hit them up on aim and tell them the true story , the three networks I wanted to join, let me in..

Do they still use AIM? I added a bunch of screen names from neverblue employees off of some list, but haven't seen them online.

It is a business.
There are real people who work behind the scenes.

Contact them, call them, e-mail them.
If they like what you have to say, you seem professional they will accept you.

Don't just blindly apply, apply and call up to talk to a real person.
Some advertisers are just very picky about who they contract.
These are usually companies whose long term brand image is more important to them than short term profits.

Their is one particular retailer who still to this day refuses to work with me because I use unconventional traffic methods. I even met the dude in person but they only want to work with large established content websites.

Some advice... Don't use some script or some method that someone else has told you to do. Just signup, be honest, tell them what you know, what your intentions are, and go from there. Most networks just want to have affiliates on board that have good intentions - at least that is what we want.

Everybody is new at some point. Heck I was new way back when and I didn't know jack about internet marketing. I remember the networks that allowed me in and to this day we do business with them because they treated me with respect even though I was new.

If you are serious about making money and have good intentions you shouldn't have a problem getting into a network.

Make sure you only sign up with networks that pay on time every time. Except for when there's a power outage at the hotel. Or their internet connection went down. Or they forgot it was a bank holiday. Or they just changed banks and they can't release funds without their new IBAN number.

Demand good excuses.

I'm new and in the same boat as you too, just want to cut the shit and jump right into it. Would love to create a relationship with a4d. Any other networks newbie friendly?
