Evening all,

Noob in need of help...

A year ago i bought a local online business directory KentFind.co.uk.

Its a fairly old PR4 site and gets around 11,000 uniques each month (26,000 pageviews) which is all from natural searches - no PPC.

I covered it in adsence which brings in around £100 each month and on top of that, it makes a bit on 'Premium Listings'.

Im now a bit stuck as i dont know what else to do with it??

Any tips?? If not i'll probably think about selling it.

Thanks

1) After they order sell the leads to seo companies or setup a rev share with them?
2) Hosting or website maintenance?
3) Sell them marketing books (ebooks) to improve their website/business online?

I agree that you could sell the leads to Seo companies.

Also list the seo company as a trustee provider and charge them ?

Possibly sell links on your site? A PR4 backlink is nice

Thanks for the reply, but im not sure i understand.....Just because they have bought a listing, why would they be interesting in hosting or website maintenance or marketing books for that matter?

Also, about the leads - would SEO companies actually buy leads? How do i go about selling them? How much are they worth? Sorry, but ive never done this before.

Thanks again for you help.

Seo companies might buy them, they might just go through the site and scrape them ( I work for one so I know)

Do you have all the listing members email addresses ?
If so you could send out a blast with the Seo company's info and charge the Seo company to do so.

Sell the leads.
Sell the site. (If you've boosted the revenue, you can make a good return.)
Raise the price of your premium listing a small %.
Find a network willing to pay more the adsense.
Sell on a CPM basis, rather than a PPC basis.
Finally, run some appropriate biz opp. offers.

Yes i do have the full contact details of every business that has rver signed up to the site.

So i wouldnt actually sell the list to the SEO company, id just let them use it to help sell their services.....ok, that sounds sensible - but how do i know what to charge for that?? Is there a standard rate?

Thanks for the advice - If selling the leads doesnt work i think i will sell it! Given the details above, any idea on how much i could get for it?? Also wheres the best place to sell it?

Also, i still need to know a guideprice for selling the leads? I dont know if its 10p or £10!!!???!!!

Thanks in advance

Why sell it if its making you over 100 profit per month for doing nothing?

Im trying to work out how to monetize it better. If i cant squeze more than the current £100+ per mth out of the site then the next step would be for me to sell it on and spend the cash on the next project.

Any idea on how much i could get??
And im STILL trying to find out how much the leads and the email list could be worth too???

Okay.

Well if you have proof that it makes £100 / month garunteed without any work needed from the owner then you would price it with these in mind.

1-2 years worth of income (1 = more likely)
Cost to develop website
Current traffic
value of domain (if premium)

Whats the URL?

Really appreciate the advice!

The site is www.KentFind.co.uk

It has made between £100-£130 through adsense each and every month since i bought it a year ago. On top of that theres the income from premium listings, which changes every month.

The site is 99% on autopilot. I dip in once a week for an hour just to make sure theres no problems. I tweak new customers 'premium listings' - simply to ensure they are getting value for money.

The site gets approx 11,000 uniques per mth (26,000 pageviews) and that has been consistant for 12 months.

If the site is just worth a years income then i might as well just keep hold of it and just keep trying to squeeze more cash out of it by selling the leads/email list/links etc, as advised by others comments.

Would members on this site be interested or would i be better off finding an end user??

Thanks again!

No problem :)

Well if you've got steady proof that its made near that amount every month you could probs price it at 2 years.

Plus its a PR4 , so that ads value.
Plus its got sitelinks in google which shows its an authoritative site.

If I where you I would hold onto it, but if you want to sell it ... try flippa.com

you should get a few grand for it.

Ok - a few grand sounds more like it! :)

I'll see how i go with selling links etc first. If thats doesnt work i'll be back asking for 'flippa' tips!! Thanks

Can anyone tell me the best place to sell links and any idea of how much i could charge?? (should i start a new post on this???)

Yeah flippa is a good place to sell!

Yup just post up a thread in the links & seo section im sure youll get some interest.

I may be interested in a link on the site, if you can drop me a PM :)

Sorry to sound like a dick.. but this ^ is why you aren't making more money on your site. Why would they be interested in web hosting, or marketing? Because they are business owners and reps looking for exposure, that's why they are on your site. Of course you could try to sell them stuff about boomerangs too!!
