My 3 year old threw a tantrum and broke my iphone glass

I let her play angry birds from time to time and yesterday she was freaking out about something so I gave her the phone. She took it and threw it on the ground. I heard the screen shatter.

Where can I get a new glass? It's the iphone4 so my understanding is the glass and LCD are fused together at the factory ( to make it more thin ). And it's not a cheap fix. I haven't found anything under $100.

Any secret corners of the web selling these for cheap?

I bought a replacement screen from Amazon for about 80$, and after about 3 hellish hours I got it in and working.

This is why we can't have nice things!

Yea. There's a Vid on Directfix.com on replacing the screen that's fucking insane. Not sure if I would attempt it.

Go for it motherfucker...cheaper than getting a new iphone ... u should have got apple care that shit would be fixed

The outerbox case works great so if you don't have one of those yet I'd check it out :) awesome for stuff like that.

Otterbox is.sweet, but.if.you dislike having a brick for.a.phone it.might.not be.so.sweet

I was told.apple.care.does.cover.damage ... if.it.doesn't. O well I never hadto use it but that's what I heard nigz

No, it only extends your warranty... No difference from his 1 year warranty he has with his phone still.

And the otterbox is huge, But I use it from time to time, but for the most part it's no case just invisible shield.

Yeah I know it's huge lol but damn if it means not having to shell out the benjamins then it's worth it.. and if you don't want it on there all the time, that's fine but when the little one wants to let it all hang out next time at least before she gets the phone it'll be well protected against her worst :)

Definitely never give her the phone without an otterbox (defender series)... my toddler has yet to do any damage to the iphone with that thing on!

try the apple store if theres one close by, just say it was an accident and your toddler smashed it and is there anything they can do to help you out. My friend got lucky or got a nice genius guy and he just took it back and passed him a fresh one.. said generally they give anyone who bought a legit iphone "one messup" with shattering their glass.

Makes sense since Apple makes a fuckton from the app store and want to keep you on your iphone spending as much as possible.

HAHAHA 3year old + iPhone....

brilliant!

I had an Otterbox. Totally didn't mind the size, but HATED the fact that the phone gets so friggin' dirty in between the case and the phone. It got to the point where the camera wasn't functioning properly. If this wasn't an issue, I'd be recommending the heck out of it.
