Zip Submit offer

He means that he has a landing page which directs people to the merchant's page that asks for the zip code.

He's getting a good conversion rate in sending people from his site to the merchant's, but they just don't seem to be entering their zip at that point (i.e. he isn't getting paid!)

The "page almost looks.." bit is referring to how his and the merchant's pages look.

Bingo

and vilzilla I'm using Copeac Right now...not sure if it's the best...payout is roughly 1.50 per lead...i was getting good leads at start of campaign

Copeac has some nice zip submits there and so does Market Leverage and Market Leverage had converted the BEST for me by far. It is crazy the difference between networks for me at at least. I would use these two to start out. Oh and Eadvertising has some nice $2 zips that convert really good too.

These are not just good for PPC sites but also of course your own sites. Little text links can do wonders if worded right as do big ass banners if the ads appeal to your niche that you are working on. If you have a strong site with good loyal reader/member base, usually they are putty in your hands. Having a TV/celebrity type site or blog would probably kick ass on these offers, as most of the offers revolve around one of those. Just a thought.

A tip for your ad copy...end it with something like "Enter Zip/email to Check Eligibility" sure you have to get really creative 'cause that takes up space but it will increase your ROI A LOT.

Also, think about what the offer is giving away and what audience it is targeting then just target those people in your PPC campaigns.

One thing I love about these is I can target just broad keywords and kill it.

That is dead on. You don't need much to entice them besides the fact that they might not qualify for the offer. It is simple psychology. People respond better to something they might not be able to get than to something that is just thrown out there and take it if you want it. I ALWAYS use that that eligibility line in my copy and I have liked the results. A zip code is much easier to still look credible with that line too, b/c most people don't think they can't be eligible just b/c of their email.

Any tips on keywords to bid on? I haven't worked with zip offers yet, but they do sound interesting.

Common sense would tell me to bid on terms related to the offer. But I would think that most people interested in say an iphone would be smart enough to see through the advertisement, so it'd make sense to target a more responsive demographic, like teens or low income households.

Any thoughts on this?

Some of them are broad and some are targeted. Say you have a horoscope zip/email submit. I would focus on horoscope & astrology keywords.

If it's a general offer...get creative.

Like with low income housing...set up a landing page asking them to vote on the quality of their housing and they will get a chance to earn a iphone or whatever.

I've been doing well with some of the RocketProfit [aff. link] zip offers.

Not much to add in the way of helpful tips, as I think Xrproto and moratraffic pretty much nailed it. Definitely play on people's "will I qualify?" curiosity.

Another question. I should probably just ask my AM, but I can't get in touch with him right now.

Say I wanted to do the iphone offer, but I wanted to put my own spin on it like "Vote For The All Star Game MVP And Enter To Win A Free Iphone!"

When you guys do something like this, would you have a landing page where they can vote, and then link to the offer page when they submit... Or could you iframe part of the offer into your own landing page so that it looks like one uniform page?

I realize this is probably network and offer dependant, but I'd like to hear some opinions on this as well.

Thanks.

Scott,

As far as i'm aware, you'd have to ask for permission to iframe for any particular offer.

For the voting side of things, simply have two buttons (or whatever), one for "yes", one for "no", and clicking takes them to the offer.

Using a different approach to a free iphone is not only smart but a great way to save money. Its pretty much common sense that anything to do with a product like the iphone is going to have a crazy cpc, so getting creative like you are is the best way to go and bid on the less popular keywords. I would definitely contact your AM before running any custom pages, as you don't want to get fucked out of your commissions b/c of some technicality.
