It has nothing to do with what I can afford, its what I want to spend.
I've seen some 2007s 335s or 530s with around 45k. I've been driving the shittiest cars you've ever seen for the last decade, I want to upgrade to something a little better.

of course you deal with depreciation, all you do is pay for depreciation.

Huh? Leasing prices are based on depreciation. You might not have to 'deal' with it, but you're paying it, and the largest amount of depreciation of a car occurs in the first two years of it's existence.
I've driven both the new Fusion and Taurus, and both were amazing in terms of quality and even performance. The 3.5 is no slouch, plus it gets great gas mileage. If you can find one of the new SHO's in your range, that would be a pretty good bet. But all in all, test drive them all, and then buy what you like.
They are nice cars, great daily drivers. If you feel the need to "represent" and post a pic of your ride on a thread here then get the bimmer, otherwise go with the Fusion, even consider going up to around 32K and get a new hybrid version.
