You're all criminals now

You think being outside the US makes you safe from US laws? Especially internet-related?

Even if you're a brit who's never set foot on US soil you can get extradited to a US prison.

I don't see where he mentions that he wants to violate any US laws. There are many reasons why people choose to live abroad; even if it's just seeing other countries...

No, if this doj thing goes through then you're violating a US law if you make a Facebook account using a pseudonym even if you're in France, since Facebook is based in the US and is hosted on US servers.

This is why we have checks & balances and the judicial branch. This won't hold up in court.

You are correct...the "judicial branch" scumbags are written huge checks and check their balances often because they can't believe they are getting away with making so much money from special interest groups!

I used to think like you, so optimistic I was but reality finally broke through.

If you really think the Judicial branch will do its job and save us from bad and unconstitutional laws you really have not been paying attention to what has been going on for the last 10 years. Read through the Supreme Court decisions over the last decade and watch that warm and fuzzy feeling you have about the courts protecting us wash down the drain. We have traveled so far down the road to fascism these past 10 years and the Supreme Court has done almost nothing to even slow it down. The Bill of Rights and the rest of the Constitution have been so gutted that we are not really the same country we were even 20-30 years ago.

Sure, the Judicial system has been allowing a lot of shit to fly. They've also overturned a lot of shit as well.

There's no way in hell that the Judicial system will allow TOS's to be considered law.

If you are a company and you want to create a law, you will have to do it the old fashion way and lobby Congress! :P

Agreed. The more I read about this shit, the more pissed off I get. It's fucking sickening to watch all of this happening before me.

I sincerely hope you are right. I really just do not have the confidence that I had 10 years ago that the courts would keep these kinds of bad laws at bay. While they have overturned some stuff the erosion of common sense and our rights has taken a very bad turn for the worse. It started getting worse in the 80's but this last decade has seen such an acceleration that I sometimes have a hard time believing it even when I am looking at it.

It is not like this is the only internet related law in the works that is going to cause problems. There are quite a few more in the pipeline. The Govt is in control everything mode and I do not see that changing anytime soon.
