As a publisher of any type, if your opinion counted, what changes would you make for someone to create the best possible affiliate program/network around?

Make a list of things, try to be realistic, but be creative too. You can cover how you want to change all sorts of things, like payouts, offers, incentives, types of offers, etc. Anything that would help YOU the affiliate make more money and convert better overall, regardless of how you market whatever it is you're marketing.

I can assure you, that unlike other times, your opinion is very valuable this time around.

Some kickass tracking system that can see patterns in which visitors(country, os, screen size, referer, SE keywords, etc) click what, convert where, etc.
Oooh so creative! :338:

Payout on request would be a huge feature, very detailed tracking, lots of international offers with decent payouts, a big referrel bonus, real time tracking, some type of bonus program like azoogle has, and I'd like to see more offers that give afilliates a revenue sharing option.

Payout on request would be nice, but I'd even settle for weekly payout. Just something to make cash-flow a little easier to manage.

I would also love to see some easy way of handling targeted landing pages. For instance, if you're promoting a site with 1000 products on it through Azoogle, you just dump the user on the main page and cross your fingers. If you could dynamically set the landing page you want, through a parameter in the URL, that would be tremendously helpful.

High % of profits, weekly is fine.

Being able to do test purchases to confrim tracking.

Weekly payouts for sure.

Tracking and stats down to a tee, like adsense.

Incentives! w00t

Oh yeah, and EFT payment.

Weekly or on demand payouts would be awesome. (weekly would be good enough for me, but on demand...whoo!)

Good stats...that lists pretty much all there is to list and also real time tracking is always a big big plus.

What do you guys feel about recurring payouts?

Meaning, if you make a sale, it may not be the highest amount per sale, but chances of you making 10x that amount because it rebills over the next 10 months.

This would be awesome. This is actually what I was expecting when I first started looking in to affiliate marketing.

I would also like to see some cooler creatives. Something like play the game win an ipod or whatever like Precision click uses for the CPM banners. I got some crazy amounts of clicks on those, but the CPM rate sucked ass.

  • I would say more international offers
  • Weekly payout would be nice.
  • Nice referer bonus
  • Alot more offers mainly health offers would be good.
  • Also better landing pages where you dont have to create your own...ie landing pages thats ready right out of the box.

recurring payouts would be sweet....that would be good for people like me for, instance i only get about 15 or 30 signs a month versus some that is a marketing guru. it would allow the not so good marketer to make money with that recurring payouts like my self...So if the recurring payout is say 15 bucks every month or six month still can a make a nice amount every month or so...

So i'm in for the recurring payout:action-smiley-052:

I would like to see more related ways to monetize traffic for given offers. More creatives.

I would not mind recurring payments at all, the only concern with that is the ability to properly track it and makes sure we are being properly credited each month.

I always want to know how effective an offer is, network wide. Detailed demo/geo information about each advertiser should be the norm but isn't. I need to know who buys from them so I can match it up to my audience. Also programs that allow you to get paid for a few different actions the user can take are great (eBay's progam on CJ works this way). For example, payout on registration, sale (winning bid) AND action (bid).

  1. Ready to go creative - graphics and copy that don't look and read like an ad
  2. Real-time tracking of clicks and earnings or as fast as possible

I think tracking is damn important and should be real time. You should make it easy for PPC'ers by tracking keyword referrals and showing keyword to conversions stats so that affiliates can quickly work out what keywords are converting.

You could allow them to setup custom "blocks/units/whatever" where the affilliate can enter data like keyword name, engine, cost per click and the tracking can spit out conversion data and profit based on that.

This is all stuff that you usually have to use 3rd party programs for. But if you were a big PPCer this type of system would be sexy.

If you are going to have affiliate 'managers' assigned to accounts they should know about PPC, SEO and the owner's site they are talking to in E-Mail or on the phone. I don't want an affiliate manager suggesting X offer for my site when it's an OBVIOUSLY unrelated offer. I also don't want an affiliate manager telling me how to "get in google" by rehashing some shit they heard from a friend of a friend, etc..

Basically we need affiliate managers who KNOW about each account they are in charge of, and the sites that account runs. I think a good payout % for affiliate managers would keep them working hard and always learning.
