Hi, I know that this might not be relevant here. But anyways, I am posting it. I am 21 year old regular guy ( i know that sucks), with an average body (sucks even more0 but now I want to put up some serious muscle. But as usual I am confused that whether I should go for free weights or resistance bands. Please advice. Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

jesus, when you say "shoot the shit" is it so wide that you can ask fitness questions?
Actually yes, but not sure why a 4 post n00bie whore would do it. We have fitness and food threads every once and a while. Heck there was a time when there where weight loss challenges with photos and all.

Well, I must say that many of the off topic threads are cool (from politics to weight loss) but this one, come on, at least make an effort of making a solid question...

Drink some protein shakes and I think creatine... It will get you some weight and then build some muscle by working out... p90x or insanity or some shit like that...

I was in the same boat you were...

Get the 4 Hour Body (Tim Ferriss). Read the "From Geek to Freak - How to Gain 34 pounds in 28 Days" chapter and the "Occam's Protocol" chapters.

In short, muscle gain is probably 70% nutrition, 15% rest/sleep and 15% stimulus (pushing weight). If you are a true 'hard-gainer' you might need to make eating your full time job. Also note that working out less not more will often produce far superior results. The bigger you get, the more rest you need. Tim was sometimes waiting 6 or more days in between workouts yet he kept getting stronger and putting on weight.

JC.

p.s. Those percentages could be different than what's in the book.
