WPREVIEWENGINE REVIEW
WP Review Engine is a pretty sweet package, the actual installation is effortless and only requires changing some minor php. It consists of three plugins, the link cloaker, the review engine, and the .csv importer. If your blog is installed somewhere other than the root, like mine sometimes are, you just have to copy a second set of the core folders to the original location for the images and files to work correctly.
Once installed, there are several quality themes to select from. Each have their own strengths, depending on what your vision is for each different site, review, landing page, product line, etc..
The comment generator helps bring an organic, fresh, and natural look to your site, and it is possible to auto-generate tons of different types of comments on the various products you're reviewing.
The nice thing about this upgrade versus the older WPReviewEngine is that there are a LOT more options regarding the appearance. There is an entire options menu for changing many, many factors in the colors and design of the comparison tables, reviews, etc..
The .CSV importer works like a breeze and doesn't take that long to upload a database of files. Creating links between database fields can save you a shitload of time, too, and automate a lot of unnecessary grunt work. This is the real money part for those like me who are generating entire sites based off of scraped database data. If you set it up right, you can generate thousands of quality, targeted pages using this approach.
Although I'm not currently using the Link Cloaker, I did activate it to see how it worked and I could definitely see some possibilities for the future.
If you want to go the affiliate review landing page approach, the comparison tables themselves look good and professional and were doing quite well for me. The one thing I was looking forward to was vertical tables versus horizontal ones, however I wasn't able to figure that out. I've been meaning to shoot HBZ a PM about that, but I'm sure I'll get that straightened out.
In short, WPReview Engine is a fantastic all-in-one plugin that can turn your site into a converting machine with just a little work. The extra features included in this version add a whole new dimension of tweakability and tons of new options for customizing the look for how you want it.
I give it the Hellblazer Seal of Approval and a 9.5/10.
