Louis, I'm lagging. Got it uploaded to a server, haven't had a chance to play yet. I will say it looks good from the admin panel, very good.

I think Louis and Mark (MRP) are both amazing coders and really creative. It's cool to watch them continually up the ante on each other, in the process making better products for themselves and us.

Likewise, I've not had chance to check it out yet. Hopefully should do later today, but gotta say from reading the docs I'm very impressed so far.

ok, i've spent a couple days playing with this and i'd definitely recommend it. i'm still messing around with it but wanted to comment on it since i don't see any reviews coming in...

the installation is a breeze and just about every function can be customized to your liking. i don't have any programming knowledge and even i can make changes quickly to just about everything.

for right now i'm using this plugin with amaniche and adding comments to posts, adding ratings, etc. using the comment generator you can quickly add thousands of unique comments to each post and customized ratings, like stars, etc.

an area for improvement for these comments would be to include a pre-loaded database of "real" comments that are ready for spinning. it takes time to {come up with|create|think about} a new comment that makes sense. actually, the most time-consuming part of this whole program is creating comments that you can spin. (i don't think any of the review programs have this). but i'm not putting this out as a negative - if you want believable comment you should create it yourself i guess. anything preloaded runs the risk of being too generic to apply to what you're pushing and probably wouldn't make sense to the anyone reading your comments.

i've also tested the csv importing and like everything else about this - simple, fast and effective. if i get more time this week i'll throw together an affiliate review site and share it with everyone (running on fumes this week, lol).

so far i have nothing negative to say about this product and highly recommend it. combined with other plugins the possibilities are endless and this is a powerful tool to add to your arsenal.

i have some killer ideas for combining this with the yellowpages scraper that i picked up and doing some local review sites, adding the zip code search and google maps... could be a nice way to pre-sell some offline seo work if your future clients can see local users on your site leaving real comments!

Ok, having played with this for the last couple of days I see some really great things here.

1) This plugin is like a shotgun. Point it at what you want to kill and blow it away. There are options for just about everything. It's freaking option heaven.

2) It goes together quick. After following the documentation for about 15 minutes I was up and away on my site.

3) Maps integration is freaking awesome. Map looks great, and is placed in a logical spot.

4) Custom theme integration, using the hooks, looks great. I've got a theme I love to use for sites like this, and working in the WPReview parts is pretty painless.

5) Attention to detail. For example, there are like 20 CTA buttons. LOVE THIS!

Using the WF coupon to get 35% off you can get the developer multi-site version for like $115 or something. In terms of value, it's got a VERY high value. The free upgrades, the excellent support, and the highly customizable nature of this plugin means you're buying a swiss army knife of "FUCK YEA".

I wouldn't mind taking a look at the new version if review copies are still available. THanks.

Still waiting on reviews from ayzo, elitesystem, dchuk, hellblazer, spock49, agua, moratraffic, and timtim.

This wasn't a "get WPReviewEngine for free and don't post a review" offer... lol

just a short update

Louis,

Please accept my apology for been late on reviewing your product, i am moving my sites over to seohosting from hostgator...it will take me another day or 2 before i instal the plugin, but i will be definitelly back with detailed feedback. I didnt requested the free review copy just to have another plugin in my plugins library...i'm real user of similar products as this is one of the many ways i do generate smal income :-)

In other words, the install of your plugin will be on a real life site that is not going to be just a test install, but real products review site. I will be back with the URL and detailed feedback very soon.

You forgot to call me out, but perhaps you were cutting some slack? Giving this bad boy the run thru this weekend, will leave detailed report Monday am. I can't offer any real comparison to MRP yet, as I've only run thru the documentation and admin interface on yours' so far, but owning WFReview, MRP and WPReviewEngine, well...one of these things is not like the other. You and Mark are in a battle royale (with cheese) for the 1a and 1b slots for wp review plugins. Unless none of those nifty buttons in the interface do anything. :)

Very, Very, Very, Very Impressed.

My review is based on a simple product comparison model which I can use for Organic Search or PPC.

I've been struggling with review sites using some software called reviewsPRESS - which has around 5% of the features WPreviewengine 5 has.

It took me around 10 mins to install WPreviewengine 5, activate the plugin and theme, then 10 mins (getting banners and links) to have my first review up and running - with 3 ratings categories. No other configuration was needed to get to this stage - the site looked good and I could have just kept adding reviews at this point. It was all self explanatory, no searching was needed to find settings.

What more could you ask for for an out of the box solution?

I do not code - so I find any code edits taxing... but there are non in WPreviewengine 5, everything is editable in the admin area. You can even edit the layout of the pages and posts by using a simple tagging system which takes around 10 seconds to figure out :).

My site was using the one of the supplied themes and made it very easy for adding a post icon or screenshot of the site, reviews, but there are lots of options for embedding the reviews into a 3rd party theme (my next task) which seem straight forward and was surprised to see about 20 options for different "Call to Action" buttons - which saved me some Photoshop time - I just used one which matched my sites colors (which I'd changed), the rating stars also have several graphic options and you can edit virtually every piece of text (I say virtually as there may have been one I missed). Dive in a little deeper and you can even change the css of the ratings box, star rater, comments, comparison table... everything.

All of the above make it extremely quick and easy to get a review site out there in minutes. You only need to visit the admin area to make each site look and feel different in appearance to site users and search engines.

I was impressed with the auto-gen comments - you do have to think of some random comments (but a quick search online gives you some ideas, and if you make your own database of these - they will be reusable on other sites) - the only comment I have on this area is the Random Dates - maybe a date picker would be handy - there is a button to complete with todays date, but it enters in both the to and from fields, I had already enter the from field and this was overwritten - so all my comments were from today - it caught me out a few times.

WPreviewengine 5 also comes with a Link Cloaker - which works well and saves time installing more plugins - nice touch

I haven't even used or investigated half of the features yet, such as googles hReview "Google parses the hReview microformat and uses the data to populate search results page." (first time I had heard of it) - WPreviewengine 5 automaticall embeds hreview elements in the posts - which can only be good - again you can turn this on or off.

I never touched other items which you can integrate such as Google maps, Zip Code radius search (us only) - or the CSV import (not applicable to my site this time) - but I already have a plan for those.

All in all I'm extremely impressed. Less than 1 hours work and I have a pretty cool review site up and running.

Installation: 10/10
Simplicity 10/10
Configuration 10/10
Usability 10/10
Results 10/10

(it has also prompted me to write my longest post ever!!)

Support, Plugin, Everything - top notch

I installed WPReviewEngine on one of my less standard sites, with a heavily modified WP theme. Got everything configured, but couldn't figure out how to get things to display with the weird theme that I'd been working with.

So I contacted their support e-mail - with a detailed response on how to fix some problems I was having - in less than 12 hours, along with an offer to install the hooks onto the theme I was using. In the interest of this review, I took the offer. A few hours later, once I'd gotten home from work, everything was working.

Awesome, and totally unexpected. And, when I asked if this was the standard support that anyone interested in the plugin could expect, the answer was, "Of course."

So if you've had problems in the past not being able to configure a plugin or theme that you've purchased, that's not a problem you're going to have with this plugin - and that's worth a good amount.

Looking over everything involved in the plugin, the first impression that I got was that it is very, very powerful. There are so many options that it'll take you a while to figure out what you're going to use and what you're not.

The added plugins that come with the package are just the icing on the cake, but it's a nice buttercream icing.

In my opinion, this plugin is completely worth the price you're paying and then some. This plugin should be near the top of the list of any site developer's "must have" plugins.

Review Time

I threw this on a site that I built the theme for from scratch, so I was curious to see how easily it plugged in. Once I get everything else built out on the site, I started adding in some products into their own category as reviews.

There was an hour or so of me having to dig into the huge amount of settings to just get my head wrapped around the process, but once I got it sorted out, things started coming together really nicely. I started applying my own styles, changed up all of the settings, and organized each of my review posts really nicely.

The next step is using the bundled csv plugin to bulk import a shit ton of products now that the system is all setup. The widgets are nice, I'm styling those soon to match the theme. Everything should blend in really well with my site and I'm loving how powerful the plugin is so far. I definitely see myself pumping out a bunch of these sites soon once I have the process completely ironed out.

The only suggestion I have as of now is for it to have more AJAX based settings in the backend. Having to constantly flip back to the right setting tab after each update can become tedious, but luckily, I didn't have to make that many updates to get things rocking.

Overall, amazing plugin, fits in perfectly with a custom theme, plays nice with my other plugins, and should make me some cash soon.

A++&881238++asf9+ will use again

I feel like a dick for not being able to get a review up sooner especially since I was the first one to request one but I guess it would be better late then never.

Setting up the license was a snap and took less than a minute, simply grab your license key, paste it into a php file and you're pretty much ready to start. The installation process was also easy, it's just like installing any other plugin, just upload it to your plugins folder then go into wordpress and activate it.

The plugin has just about everything you would ever need for a review site, you can put the review table on the index, automatically have them ranked by rating, and of course it comes with all the graphics (stars, click here buttons) so you can begin using it right out of the box. Once I actually got to modifying the plugin he first thing I noticed was how it was both simple to use and modify but at the same time extremely flexible in terms of the design, display options, and integration with your existing themes. You can modify everything from the plugins page and it won't take you longer than 10 minutes to master it.

While there are a ton of features and options here are my top 3:

Auto comment generator: This is without a doubt the #1 feature for me, you can add or import your own list of comments to add to the reviews but what makes it special is the ability to use custom fields in the comments. Not only does this make them look real and authentic if you used properly you can get some serious traffic from longtail keywords. For example if you're running a local directory you can create a comment template that looks like this:

{restaurant_name} is one of the best {food_type} restaurants in {city} {state}

And before you know it you're ranking for "italian restaurants in Chicago" and just about any other longtail keyword you can think of. Really the only thing that could make this feature better would be the ability to spin the comments within the plugin but like I said you can upload a list so you can just have your rewriting software export the comments, merge them into 1 file, and then upload it.

Ability to import .csv files: For those of you who are all about automation this is probably a dream come true, simply fire up your scraper on any major ecommerce site and before you know you'll have thousands of products/local listings ready to be reviewed. Mix this with the auto comment generator and the sky really is the limit. Of course you can use custom fields here too and map it to your reviews so all the .csv data and review data will match up on your website.

The only thing you need to be aware of is if you're on shared hosting to import the .csv files in smaller chunks otherwise you could end up getting booted. This is not an issue with the plugin but rather wordpress and limited resources available on shared hosting.

Google maps integration: This feature is really more for the visitors than it is for you but if you're planning on running a local directory then this feature is an absolute must have. Just like all the other options integrating google maps only requires a few clicks, just paste your API key, choose the map width, height, and zoom level and choose where you want to embed the map (above, below content, or not at all) and you're ready to go.

Honestly I'm amazed by all the features and customization available with WPReviewEngine, I can say with absolute confidence that it's not only the best review plugin for wordpress, it's the best out of the box review platform available and I've tested many.

Get it now, you will not be disappointed.
